Saturday and Sunday July 17th and 18th, 2010

We left Coeur d’Alene around 11 am and got to Fairmont Hot Springs around 6. We got our spot in the rv park (the second to the last spot in the entire park, furthest away from everything. We packed our backpacks and walked to the lounge for a bite to eat and use the internet, we didn’t have any at the site, then walked down to the hot springs for an hour of luxury!

We woke up this morning early to drive the last leg home. We stopped in at Banff for Ross to get his chocolate orange fudge and I got the round candy things you get in licorice allsorts, yum!

Before we drove to Edmonton, we stopped off at the lake property we sold, which allowed us to buy Betsy and move to Mexico. Wow what a difference, they kept our cottage but fixed all the logs and added some, cleaned up the beach with sand and they have several gravel spots for their kids motor homes and fifth wheels. Butch took us on his golf cart (they have about 8) to tour the property, he even built a shop and inside the shop was 5 vintage mustangs all in perfect condition. Ross drooled!

We are not stopped at Pam’s house in Sherwood Park getting our internet stuff and watching America’s got talent. We had a good chat with my daughter before bed, she has to work tomorrow so it was an early night.

So we’ll talk to you tomorrow.

Monday July 19th to Tuesday 27th, 2010

Wow, what a whirlwind! After getting up Monday morning we showered at Pam’s house then went to Denny’s for Breakfast, we will have to kill Ross as he said he preferred Denny’s to IHOP! What! He has no taste!

After breakfast we did a whole lot of running around but didn’t get much done. You know how that works. We got back to Pam’s around 4 and had a great BBQ of Burgers, salads, French fries, it was great. Our good friend Wes dropped by after work and steam cleaned Betsy’s carpet to get ready to show her off to our potential buyers. I packed up my clothes in a suitcase to get ready to move our stuff to the car we are going to rent.

Tuesday we got up a little earlier, showered and was at Denny’s by 11, yoohoo! We stopped at 4 or 5 different places to get an estimate on fixing the basement door Ross banged up, of course it was the last one, and the estimate is for almost 2,000, ouch. Then we went to the registry office (we can’t find Betsy’s registration) and got an original one for the Sunfire also.

We then drove to Budget rent a car and got an explorer, which is good cause we have a lot of stuff to put in her. I followed Ross to the race track and we chatted with our good friend Ralph for a bit then back to the Park to wash Betsy and then to Pam’s to finish empting Betsy.

We stopped off at the mall for dinner; I had a burrito at Taco time, yum, so much different than Mexico, Ross had KFC (the same as Mexico)! We then contacted the buyers and we drove almost to South Cooking Lake to their acreage. They loved her, he drove her twice once with just us and the kids then with Linda his wife. We left there with high hopes that we had Betsy sold! Alas, this was not to be. We camped at Rainbow Valley for two nights and their mechanic came, gave her the thumbs up but called us the next day and said it was too much for them so we are taking her to Pam’s tomorrow Wednesday 28th so Derek, my son-in-law can put her back on Kijiji and put her on his uncles acreage until we sell her.

I have decided to combine our adventure this past week in one entry, way too much to remember, I should have been doing this daily, but we have been on the go constantly since we got here.

We did the Edmonton Indy Saturday and Sunday(24th and 25th), what fun, I drove the Indy girls (they are very cute) all over the place on my golf cart (Ross asked me why he couldn’t do it, I said I am special)

We stayed our first two nights by Pam’s house (my daughter) then a night at Walmart in south common, then 2 nights in Rainbow valley (that is a ski hill and camp ground in the middle of the city) then 2 nights at Walmart on the Capilano mall, Saturday night about 1 am a drunk guy climbs up our ladder, walks across our roof (puts his foot in our skylight) and just jumps off the front of Betsy! Ross called the cops, they came and found him, we didn’t press charges, but we didn’t know about the skylight then either. We picked one up today at Carefree RV for $36.00, not bad.
On Thursday last week, Ross’s Mum and daughter Tara with a friend and my granddaughter Alexys took Betsy to our old cabin that we sold which allowed us to live in Mexico (and buy Betsy). Wow, what a difference, they did everything that we wanted to do but didn’t have the money to do it. They added on to the old cabin then put sod down on a lot of the property, which of course wasn’t where they have the in ground hot tub with a tiki bar and gazebo type change room. He put sand down on the shore (after pulling up a lot of bushes) with a volley ball net! The inside is magnificent, they tore down the ceiling and put in a loft, they kept the huge fireplace and old wood stove but put in a fantastic kitchen! I have pictures, I will try to put them in the blog, we are using Brett’s (a good friend) internet and it is very low out here on the street.

On Friday last week Ross’s old band, Capital Newz, played in Sir Winston Churchill Square for the taste of Edmonton, wow what a treat, they are so much better than when we left, the 3 and 4 part harmonies are terrific!
We are staying in a guest suite in Ross’s Mums condo building Wednesday to Saturday since we won’t have Betsy to sleep in. We will continue to rent the Explorer until Friday when we turn her in.

We went to Red Lobster for our anniversary (July 23) wow, the lobster was great, that was all I had except for a baked potato that I didn’t eat.
Today Ross, all by himself mind you, replaced our broken skylight which was no easy fix at least that is what he told me. Between Brett and Ross they fixed the ladder and basement door. Laurie, Brett’s wife, cooked hamburgers for supper tonight, along with mushrooms (I know you don’t like them Sue) and onions, a salad and beans, it was great!

We are just sitting here watching Deadliest Catch (captain Phil just died) our Baby Girl is just running around having fun, it will be fun taking her on the plane with us!

Well, that is it for now, we’ll talk later

Thursday July 15th, 2010

We woke up this morning in Cascade Idaho very cold, my feet haven’t been cold for a year now, I still don’t like it.

As we are traveling I put Baby Girl on the dash board and she loves it, she is playing with my hair band and stuff, she is getting into everything! To our left the mountains are about 1500 feet above us and there is snow on the tops of some of them, didn’t they hear it was July now! As we are doing the scenic route we are driving through little towns, with pickmeup trucks and little houses, Donnelly has a population of 138, we are driving through it now.

We are driving through a super neat town on the lake called McCall, it has rustic B & B’s a marina, loads of little shops, I could live here, except it’s kinda cold. There is a sandy beach with pine trees everywhere. It reminds me of Jasper or Banff.
We are now sitting in a RV park in Coeur d'Alene Idaho on our way to Fairmont Hot springs tomorrow then good ol’ Edmonchuck Sunday. We had a super great meal at the floating restaurant called The Cedars on the lake, food to die for, Ross had the prime rib and I had swordfish, nummy!

Thursday July 15th, 2010

What a beautiful morning in Provo Utah. We had a great breakfast at IHOP now we are on the I15 towards Salt Lake City.

The I15 seems to go on forever city after city…………we finally got turned north on the 84 and caught up with the 55 after Boise. Ross loved the city of Boise; it was very clean and green! The 55 is a marvelous drive, we drove by the Payette river along the way and what rapids in some parts of the river, wow. We are now at a campground at Cascade and will travel to Coeur d’alene tomorrow; we are really looking forward to that

Oh I forgot to say that we stopped off at an RV dealership and the only thing wrong with our genset was it was low on oil, we had it serviced before we left it should have been ok, oh well it was an easy fix!

Just heard a joke from a friend and I had to tell you - How do you know the difference between a girl potato and a boy potato………………the girl has a t-shirt on that days I da ho!

Hate to say this but I think that is it for today.

Wednesday July 14th, 2010

It took us a bit of doing to get out of Vegas. We went and got Betsy washed, then went downtown to have breakfast at The Bay City Diner (did I get it right this time Ross?) and to see if we could get some new crocks for Ross. Walking Vegas gets his all dirty and he only brought one pair with him. We finally got everything done (except for new crocks they didn’t have any) so off on highway 93 and, we thought, area 51 but alas, that was not to happen. When I looked on the internet for area 51 it said it was on highway 93 just north of Vegas, but there weren’t any signs or anything. That was the only think on this trip I wanted to see, but oh no, not this time!

Driving highway 93 is like driving through Saskatchewan or Manitoba (except for the vegetation) straight highway, flat and boring. We decided we had had enough of that so we took off on highway 6, we stopped at the border of Nevada and Utah for some gas and there was a hotel, bar and a small casino, so of course we stopped. We put in 40.00 worth of gas, I won 30.00 bucks and Ross won 10.00 bucks so that paid for our gas, neat heh!

We decided to stay in Nephi Utah at a KOA, but the one we picked, at first it wasn’t where the GPS said it would be, and second, the people at the gas station said it was in another location but would be full because of a rodeo in town (this was just south of Provo at 10:30 at night) so we decided to stay in Provo. We stopped at a flying J (truck stop) finally had some supper, Ross had a stupendous double hamburger and I had some pasta (which half of it is now in our fridge) the genset wouldn’t kick in so instead of listening to trucks all night (we had to open our windows) and smell diesel we in our jammies drove about ½ a mile to a Walmart and had a great sleep.

Tuesday July 13th, 2010

Our last full day in one of our favorite cities ever, after waking up around 10 and putzing around we finally got off to do the rest of the stuff we have wanted to do. We drove to Walmart first to pick up a new mouse for me (my other one kicked the bucket) some audio cable for Ross, pet meds, water and some other stuff. We stopped off at Applebee’s for breakfast (they don’t do breakfast) so I have some onion soup and Ross and I shared some artichoke and spinach melt with Nachos. After Walmart we drove to the pawn shop that is on TV, the owners weren’t in, but boy was it busy, Ross got a couple of shirts and we got out of there. We found a dollar store, I’m looking for 2 saucers for Baby Girl’s food and water, we didn’t find exactly what I wanted but what we got will work.

We got back home then walked over to Circus Circus to look at the acts; we couldn’t find the one that Gaye-Lynn suggested but found others. We did a bit of one armed bandit pulls then back home to wait for the guy to come to wash Betsy. He finally did show up but his pump wasn’t working right so he didn’t finish it, we got the roof done though, we’re going to go to a truck wash tomorrow before we leave Vegas.
We are going to walk back to the hotel for some more prime rib, then back home to watch America’s got talent!

Monday July 12th, 2010

What a morning, I didn’t think a tire would cause so many problems. We drove to Camping World to get the new tire on the rim, they said they could do it but it would cost big bucks and suggested we go to another place. We put the address into the GPS and off we went, we found the other place (Ted Wiens Tires) and he made us drive to his truck division. We drove there and after 45 minutes of waiting we finally got it done. It is so nice not to have a tire in our living space.

After the tire fiasco we drove to Denny’s for breakfast (it’s 2ish by this time), then drove back to our home away from home parking lot. While we were driving the satellite receiver fell out of its cubby, wires only holding it up, we squished it back in its hole but once we got back the satellite controller (we have the sat dish up on our roof and the controller controls it) wouldn’t turn on, there was power but it wouldn’t turn on. With some colourful explicatives from Ross we figured out we put in one of the wires that had come off backwards. All is now well in satellite land.

I read my book for a while, while Baby Girl was walking (jumping) on the bed with me, Ross took off to see if he could rent a car. I almost snoozed but couldn’t, rats! There was a knock at our door, it was Michael coming to get us for a night on the town. His sister got us tickets to see The Mentalist, (this is the guy that’s on the TV show) Michael dropped us off at Planet Hollywood, we got our tickets and had a little over an hour to waste before the show started so we popped into some stores, Ross bought a silly hat, we went into the casino for a bit then went to see the show.

All I can say is wow, before the show started they asked us to write our full name on a piece of paper they supplied us, a few questions we would like answered and then an old address. For my name I wrote down my first, middle, maiden name then married name. I asked questions about Alexys (my granddaughter) Pam (my daughter) Tara (Ross’s daughter) then I put down the address I used to live at in Denver.
After doing a few things he blindfolded his eyes then went into the container that had all our pieces of paper in it and started picking some out. He asked who’s initials were KG. A girl stands up and we find out her name in Kim Green and he amazed her with telling her stuff she put on her paper. After she was done he pulled a few more out and asked who had the initials KBC,I stood up and he told me my middle name is Violet, he proceeded to tell me that my questions were about Alexys and Pamela and asked who Tara was. Ross took the mike and talked for a bit and he asked who Evan was. Can you believe this, he then asked where the address was and I told him Denver, he said West Frost Drive and I said yes, he said 7539 and I said no it was 7529, he threw the paper out to the audience and asked who ever caught the paper to read what the address was, a lady opened it up and it was 7539 I wrote it down wrong! Well, Ross and I are still shaking our heads!

I stopped into a store called The Walking Company and got my feet analyzed and got two pairs of sandals to fit my feet.

After the show we took the bus (we didn’t know we had to buy a ticket on the street) for free to downtown so Ross could have supper at the Bay Street Diner. At the last minute we decided to eat at Tony Roma’s but the lineup was insane so back to the Bay Street Diner. But it is no longer the Bay Street Diner, someone bought it out, but the food was good anyway. Ross had the hamburger and I had liver and onions, to die for!

We got home, played with Baby Girl for a while then off to sleep!

Sunday July 11th, 2010

What a glorious day in Williams AZ, the sky is blue with fluffy clouds, however the coffee is something to be desired. I went to the restaurant by the office and asked for 2 coffee, she gave them to me and asked for $3.28, wow coffee has gone up, I only had 2 dollars and change, she took the 2 dollars and told me not to worry about it. My first sip of coffee is supposed to jolt you awake, not this one, I make tea stronger than that! Oh well, it is a beautiful morning.

We left Williams sometime around 10 (which is 12 our time) and drove to Vegas. Well we did take a couple of detours! We drove a little way on highway 66 to go to the Road Kill Café for Ross to get a T-shirt and we also had lunch. We got back on the 40 and at the last minute decided to forgo the “Dam” and drive by Laughlin instead. It was a great drive, no hot boats on the Colorado though, Ross was disappointed!
We got into Vegas and decided to stay at Circus Circus again just because we know it and it suits us great (except for no grass). Ross called his friend Michael and he popped by for a while. He is a great guy, we met him in Bucerias, he moved back here (this is his home town) a couple of months ago.

I got a couple of load of laundry done, so I think we are ready for the next leg of our journey. We are going to Camping World tomorrow to get the tire on the rim (hurray, no more huge tire in my living space), they say we should be able to pick it up the next day so we have paid for 2 nights here, maybe 3, we’ll have to see.
You are not going to believe this, we are watching Nat Geo HD and it is all about fixing huge things in Vegas! We might go to the Bodies exhibit at Luxor, this is the same one that was at the Telus World of Science in Edmonton.

Well I think that is all for today.

Saturday July 10th, 2010 (oops I have had my days wrong)

I am so sorry……………………….I forgot to mention something we did yesterday that Ross could not believe I forgot…………………………..we went to Heart Attach Grill in Chandler AZ. We drove a bit trying to find it, but we did indeed find it. When we walked in they put a band on our wrists (similar to the ones you get in the hospital) (I took mine off, Ross still has his on), then they put the gown on (just like in the hospital) then they take your order. You can have all the fries you want and all the meat you want on a burger. Both Ross and I had the single, but Ross had about 10 trips back to the fry bar, and he got himself a T-shirt!

We woke up early today, but ended up going back to sleep for a bit, we let baby girl run around on the bed, she loves that. We finally got a move on, and stopped at the office of the RV park for a much needed coffee. We drove the six miles to the crater, wow, is it big. We didn’t do the tour, but we did the museum which was very informative, Ross got a couple more t-shirts.

After the crater we drove to Winslow so we could take a picture of Ross on the corner, we actually got him in front of the police station on the corner.
Once that was done we drove back to Flagstaff, stopped in at the ihop for breakfast, Ross had eggs over easy and I had blueberry crapes, to die for!!!, then on the road to Williams to have ribs and listen to a guy sing and play guitar at a restaurant/bar.

When we got close to Williams I typed in camping in our GPS and it had the Circle Pines KOA that we stayed at last year coming down. So of course I picked that one, it told us to take an exit and we did, we ended up riding parallel to the highway and the road turned to gravel………………….we finally found it, it would have been much easier to take the next exit and double back, oh well we are here.

Well that will be it for today, more to come tomorrow!

Tuesday July 6th and Wednesday July 7th, 2010

Tuesday was a rat race. Ross left at 10 am to go with Dick, Larry, Christie and Miguel (head of tourism for the Bahia Banderas) to a campo that is on the beach and shouldn’t be. There are 5 or 6 guys living in makeshift houses (Palm fronds and an old catamaran (hobie cat) with no sails or mast, just a piece of junk) with a tarp on it. As soon as they came Ross was offered drugs, people want these guys removed for safety issues.

Then Ross got home and started getting stuff in Betsy so I took Lucky to the vet for a letter of health for her to cross the border with. Then Lily came to clean the house, Ross left to pay all of our bills. Sue came around 4:30 to get more back pills from us for Harold, his back is pretty sore; I’m going to pick some up for them in Edmonton to bring back. I went just before 5 to pick up Felix (our house sitter) to come to the house and stay the night as we are leaving first thing in the morning. I think we have a good guy looking after our house and critters!
We got up (you’re not going to believe this) at 7:30 this morning to head out, wow it was even light out!!! Poor Felix, Ross put an alarm clock on my bedside table last night and the alarm was set for 6am!

We went into the house (we stayed in Betsy), showered, checked emails and left. Hurray, ON THE ROAD AGAIN!!!

We left Bucerias at 9:10, did a quick stop at Oxxo for a couple of sandwiches (for breakfast) some coffee and I got some orange juice.

Things that we saw:
A HUGE chicken farm
The mountains were really smoky, kinda cool looking
There was quite a bit of construction on the roads (we thought maybe we were in Alberta)???
We saw some really cool cigar cactus that were blooming really pretty yellow flowers
Our tolls were: From Tepic to Mazatlan 597 pesos
From Mazatlan to Culiacan 325 pesos
From Culiacan to Guasave 181 pesos
The total for today is 1103
We could take the Libre (free road) but it is only 2 lanes and way too much very very slow traffic.

We had a bit of a hiccup about 100 km before Culiacan. I heard an awful noise, looked out the window but couldn’t see anything so we carried on. About 30 km before the town Betsy started making road noises and it was really bumpy, so we got out to look and guess what, you guessed it, a blown tire on the back, thankfully we have 2 on each back tires, so we drove really slowly to Culiacan hoping to find a place to get a new one. We couldn’t find one so we stopped outside a Burger King to see maybe someone spoke English and could point us in the right direction, alas no. I did however stop some people getting into their car in the parking lot and lo and behold the girl spoke English. We walked over to the Pharmacia to see if we could get some yellow pages to look for the nearest tire place. We didn’t find one there however there were about 7 or 8 people in the store and they were all trying to remember where it would be. They finally came to a conclusion and they very kindly drove a head of us so we could follow them to the store. I have to put a comment in here, the family that was so kind to lead us to the tire place was headed to visit family in the hospital! WE love Mexico! The first place was too little so we went to a second tire store that was great. We ended up using our spare tire, so we will have to buy another one soon. There were 3 guys working on Betsy (the spare had a special bolt on it so no one could steal it and we didn’t have the wrench to take it off) so they finally got it off, tried to take the wheel off, it was very hard to get it off, put the spare on, filled all the tires all for 80 pesos! $5 bucks! Amazing! I think the guys called a friend of theirs cause a guy came by that spoke very good English and we chatted with him while the tire was getting done. Once we were ready to leave he asked us if he could bless our journey, awwwwwwwwwwwwwww. We said a prayer, hugged and reluctantly left. Did I say how much I love the Mexican people?
We are now stopped at a wonderful truck stop, we had Subway for supper which was delicious. I told Ross our last night in Mexico and we eat at Subway, go figure.
Well I’m gonna go to bed now, a long drive to the border tomorrow
Ross Kim and Lucky south of Los Mochis in Betsy

Thursday July 8th, 2010

Hurray, not much happened today. We got up early (I know, dah) and was on the road at 7:20 . We did pass a truck going the other way that had flames shooting out of the bottom! Ross thinks maybe the brakes caught on fire.
Tolls were 282 to Obregon and 280 to the border, so we spent a total of 1665 pesos to get from PV to the good old’ USA!

We stopped at mile marker 21 to get the sticker removed from our RV so we can bring another car back and they won’t do it without the trailer! So we fly back home and buy a vehicle in Mexico!

It took us a good hour in line at the border and they did come in to see what we had, but there were no problems, of course. We also got stopped in Mexico with a bit of a search also, again no big deal.

I put in Cracker Barrel in my GPS and we followed the directions to Tucson and, to of course, my favorite restaurant! What a meal, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh .
We stopped at Walmart to pick up a few things then went to one RV resort, it was closed and it looked like a trailer park, lots of long term RV
parking, so we went back to Walmart and stayed there, it was much cheaper too!

Ross Kim and Baby girl in Tucson sleeping in Betsy

Friday July 8th, 2010

We got up early AGAIN, what is with this??? I found out I didn’t have any shampoo in my little bag of goodies so off to Walmart again for some shampoo and some coffee and egg mcmuffin at McD’s.

We are now sitting at an RV repair place so they can pop rivet the body panel by the tire that blew, they found our compressor (Ross couldn’t find it) and they are trying to get our horn to work. That is always a good thing to be working on a vehicle. We then are going to stop at Discount Tire for a new spare tire, before moving on.

Well Discount Tire didn’t have the right size tire so he called his Flagstaff store and they had one, so we picked it up once we got there. They couldn’t put it on the rim though so they told us to go to highway 40 east and there will be an Ace Truck Centre that would put it on for us. On this highway also is the Meteor Crater which Ross has always wanted to go to, so we decided not to journey to Williams until tomorrow and we will go see the crater.

On a side note we tried to add the tire place onto our GPS for directions and alas we got lost, but, we found a really neat part of Flagstaff that if I was to move I would move to that one area, soooooooooooo cute, almost like white ave! But we do have a very large tire in our motor home waiting for someone to put it on for us. We are thinking we will stop at a flying J maybe.

We are now sitting at a very nice RV park (with internet, the first we have had since we left) just a few miles from the crater, and we are going to go see it before we leave here. We have to drive back to Flagstaff to take Highway 40 west to Williams.

So I’ll say goodnight for now

Friday July 2nd to Monday July 5th, 2010

Friday we actually got to go see the HMCS Edmonton which is a coastal defense vessel which has been in port for a couple of days. Wow, what a treat! My Dad was a gunner in the Navy in WW2 and Larry (our friend that came with us was in the Navy in the 60’s) and I actually saw a gun that he might have been responsible for, not that actual gun but one like it. Ross played at Nacho Daddy’s in PV with another band both Friday and Saturday nights, he had a blast!

On Saturday we woke up early for our Amigos de Bucerias breakfast meeting. Ross had to go in early as he was responsible for the PA for the meeting. It was a good meeting, Christie is now acting president as John is as sick as he is, poor guy.
After the meeting Ross went home and I went over to Roxana’s house to pick up the stuff she bought for me from Canada. I got a tube of Aquafresh toothpaste, 2 boxes of mint tea from Superstore and a jar of Kraft Peanut butter. Hurray for me!
I scooted over to Mega to go to the Telcel store to see if they could fix my new iphone, but alas she didn’t know what to do. I put out an SOS out on the yahoo group and someone suggested a guy named Hugo on PV so I called him and right away he said that the phone was locked. Rats now I had to wait 2 days before I could get it working.

I went on line on to see how our FM3’s were doing and it said to go to the immigration office July 2nd. There was no way they could be done that fast and we thought that maybe they needed more info from us.

Sunday was July 4th and Larry’s party, we got over there shortly after 4 after stopping at Sue and Harold’s to congratulate them on their wedding anniversary. It was too cold to go into the pool (it has been really cloudy and NOT TOO HOT) but we had a great time chatting with our friends that were there. Everyone had a great time with Lucky baby, she is too cute.

Monday morning we scooted over to the immigration office to see what they needed for our Fm3’s and guess what,……………they were done! We could not believe that they could be done in 1 week, as we took over our stuff to start the office the Monday before. Wow, now we have to get cracking. We drove to PV to go to Hugo’s office to see if I could get my phone to work, we dropped it off and drove to Pepe’s tacos (a great taco place in PV) for lunch them drove back to Hugo’s to hopefully pick up my phone. He said I was very lucky, when I hooked the phone up to iTunes, it downloaded another something (I think it was called another operating something, I could be wrong) and with that downloaded on my phone it should not be able to be unlocked but it did.

After we got home Ross went to his meeting and I started to get things ready to leave. Once Ross got home Sue and Harold came to pick us up to go for supper at California Pizza, great pasta!

We are now kinda trying to get things ready for our trip, our house sitter, Felix, is coming over tomorrow night to spend the night (we are going to stay in Betsy) before we leave Wednesday morning. I have Lily coming tomorrow to clean the house, we had expected to leave Friday or so, so we are trying hard to remember things we need.

Well it’s time to say goodnight, (it’s midnight), and so buenas noches and we’ll talk to you later!

Tuesday to Thursday June 29th to July 1st, 2010

HAPPY CANADA DAY!

Well I’ll tell ya, life is a blur, and neither Ross nor I can remember what we did Tuesday and Wednesday! Is it Alzheimer’s??? NO (at least I don’t think so) I think it was cause they were putzing days. Tuesday we dropped Betsy off (about 2 blocks away) for her cosmetic work (a bit of lipstick and mascara). Actually Primi (our bodywork guy) fixed the dent in the passenger rear top where we had an altercation with a tree (the ladder is being fixed when we get to Edmonton by our son-in-law) and the dent in the bumper where we had an altercation with a …………………………… tree??? Yup, we have to keep Ross away from trees on the way up north. Ross took several trips to Betsy to see how (sorry about that, I had a 10 minute Yoda break!) she was getting on.

We picked her up today and drove her over to Pemex to fill her up with gas for our “road trip”. The roads in our community aren’t contusive to 34’ motor homes; we really had to pick and choose our route just to get to the 200! We have some cleaning to do on the inside of Betsy, just dust and stuff. I’ll wash the sheets this weekend and make up the bed, cause we might be on the road next week. We have to be very careful on what we bring, just in case the lady doesn’t want to buy Betsy and we will have to fly home. Anything we bring that can’t go on an airplane will have to be left behind. We are so blessed with the amount of friends we have, however everyone seems to want us to pop by, Vancouver, Calgary, Saskatoon! So if we don’t get to see everyone, we’re sorry, time is not short but money sure is!!!

The HMCS Edmonton is in the harbor in Puerto Vallarta, (along with two others), we went to see them this afternoon but they are not available to receive visitors until tomorrow. Ross’s buddy is a retired Navy guy (my dad was too, he was a gunner in WW2) and he wrote a letter of introduction for us, so maybe when we go tomorrow we will get a special tour!

Well I think that’s about it for now, I can’t think of anything else of importance. Oh, I am wrong, Dick called this afternoon to ask if we want his old air conditioner, he bought another one and knows we don’t have any air in the house except for the bedroom for sleeping. He is going to figure out how much he wants and if it’s not too much we will have air this summer, hurray!

Now that will be it
