Wednesday, Thursday & Friday October 28th, 29th and 30th, 2009

Wow have I ever been lax on writing my blog, can I remember what we did that far back? I’ll write as I remember.

On Wednesday we went out to dinner in Vallarta to a restaurant called Teatro Limon. This was a private dinner hosted by Bruce (the owner of the restaurant) and the restaurant is his private home! It is an open area with the kitchen to the front and left of the restaurant with a fireplace on the right wall in the middle of the room then to the back of the room and to the right is a bar. The choice of food was a pork medallion wrapped in bacon with a piece of sausage in the centre, with a small squash cut in half with scalloped edges with a few veggies in it (very posh) with some small potatoes or Cornish Hen. The party was for a long time resident that almost died from being sick but is getting better and will probably be fine after awile.

Yesterday Lily came by with Christie and Mackenzie (Christie’s other daughter) to let us know that Lily had some concerns about working with us. She loves us to death but it is far for her to walk to the bus from her house and then walk all the way to our house, then of course walk back to the bus then back to her house and then work for 3-4 hours. Now I offered to drive Lily but she kept saying no, anyway she is now coming twice a month for 250 pesos each and I will drive her to the bus stop after she is done at our house. This actually is good for us because we were spending around 200 pesos a week and we really aren’t that dirty. Lily also complained that I wouldn’t let her make my bed, I explained to her I have never had a maid before and didn’t know what she should be doing, that told her a lot and then she laughed.

Nick and Mike came over around 5 and they had a rehearsal until around 7 then Ross and I went over to Britannia for some fish and chips for Ross and cottage pie for me, I think I like the fish and chips better. Mike was there along with Leon (the old guy (he’s a looker… according to Philo) that plays the washboard) then we all went to Philo’s for the open stage (after of course Philo’s band plays first and Philo leads the open stage!) The only problem we have right now is that the noise the guys made in the band room scared Maggie and she hasn’t been home since. We hope she will come back soon!

We slept in this morning and had our coffee, of course outside on the patio in Paradise, and have just been bumming around. We had some corn soup for lunch (not bad) and we are watching our Corrie Street that we record 2 ½ hours every Sunday. I think we are on hour 2 now. We are going to Ross’s AA meeting tonight and then going over to Paradise village for an AA birthday BBQ they have at the end of every month. We won’t be out late tonight, thank goodness, I’m tired of being. I have had an e-mail from Deb and she is coming back down in February, so we are looking forward to visiting with them again. I feel really bad they are stuck in Edmonton until then!

We found out the Ashleigh, Ross’s daughter just got over the H1N1 flu! I have spoken with my daughter Pamela, she works for the U of A (University of Alberta) and she has been working until 11 pm some nights scheduling clinics because of H1N1 and the regular flu’s. the labs are so busy that doctors are now not even testing for H1N1 they are sending them to the clinics now. It’s crazy!

Well, that’s it for now; I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Tuesday October 27th, 2009

It is a sad day in Paradise, Tara had to leave to go back to the cold north, (snow the yucky 4 letter word) but the good news is we woke up in Mexico today and it is an excellent day. The sun is shining, only a couple of fluffy clouds and Maggie came to visit us last night and is here again tonight! (Maggie is a Mexican mutt that we befriended when we first got here, she had her tail between her legs and as we talked with her she came to love us and she is sitting on the couch right now bugging Ross, he is trying to use the internet but she keeps bumping him for more loving)
Tara ran into the house around 12 letting us know that she screwed up and her flight leaves at 3:30 rather than 4:30 and we had about 1 hour to get ready to get her to the airport on time. We all had quick showers and headed out, only to be in a super traffic jam, going into Vallarta (we are not used to that) and ended up getting to the airport at almost 2, only an hour and a half before her flight, but as this is Mexico it doesn’t take super long to get through security so it was ok. We are so sorry to see her go, but then again, we are by ourselves again, which always is a good thing, as much as we love everyone!

We got home from the airport and had a super short siesta then drifted in the pool until the time we needed to get ready to go back to Vallarta to a dinner meeting at the Sirloin Stockade at the mall across the street from the cruise ship dock. Oh by the way on the way to the airport and on the way to supper the Federal Police had a road block up going into Vallarta to check, I’m assuming, drug runners. There was even a federal police airplane at the airport and there were a lot of trucks with the army guys in them. Believe it or not we feel so secure here! We had a great supper (Ross had 4 plates of food and 4 plates of dessert) I had some salad, broccoli/cheese soup and some great stir fry and some apple crisp and some rice pudding for dessert.

We left at about 9 and got to La Cruz shortly before 10 and had a great time at Britannia Pub. Ross played a bit, Eugene was there (he plays guitar and is moving in 2 days to another part of Mexico) along with the regulars Nick, Mike, Carlos etc. We didn’t get home until after midnight and I think got to bed around 1. We slept in until noon today, drank our coffee outside (it’s 30 with 60% humidity (it’s cooling off thank goodness)) and now are doing our computer stuff then will shower and run a few errands before going to a supper (again in Vallarta) for a guy that was very sick that ran one of the groups in yahoo and he is now better. Ross just got an email that the restaurant has been changed so I have to find out where it is, so I’ll say bye for now and will talk to you soon.

Sunday October 25th & Monday October 26th, 2009

We are still alive! After having a 25 year old with us Ross was quite concerned about this dilemma, Tara and I have been partaking in the Mexico spirit and doing Margarita’s and stuff and Ross is ready to sleep! However, things are always good in Mexico!

We woke very late, Tara, I’m sure had some breakfast and lunch before we woke up and we had a huge scare! Big dog and Gracie normally get up after we do to go potty, and Big Dog could not walk! We got him outside but he looked like he was drunk, his back legs wouldn’t co-operate and his back legs kept collapsing. He couldn’t even go pee. We got him inside and we were contemplating having to call the vet to have him put down, but decided to give him his medication (we normally gave him the medication after breakfast) and see how he was in an hour. Well…………he stood up and went outside and went potty, walked around the block with Ross and Gracie, we only have one more day of medicine for Big Dog, so before we do anything else tomorrow, we need to get more medication from the vet.

I feel better now; it was hard to type about Big Dog. I just answered an email from Deb and Ron, they have to go back home and want to meet up before they go. I hope to see them tomorrow. We actually have set the alarm for 9am, cause Tara needs to go home Tuesday and needs to get in as much stuff! as she can before she leaves, so we are getting up early (yuck, its 11:05 right now) (we actually changed the time today, we went back an hour because of daylight savings time is now done) and we have to meet up with Deb and Ron (we hope) get to the vet to get Big Dog more meds, go to Mama Lucia (a tequila factory in Mismaloya that makes the best tequila everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr) and Tara wants to take us to dinner at Si Senor in Vallarta (somewhere) for dinner, because it is (according to Tara) to die for.

Stacy called me to ask if I can change my hotel reservation to include Jordan in Cancun for Pamela’s wedding as they have a maximum for people to stay in the rooms before they upgrade to a larger room for way more money. I called Travelocity and not only did I get Jordan in our room for an extra $350.00 they are crediting my MasterCard for almost $200.00 because the rooms are on sale right now! What is the luck in that! Just tell me that!

I have to tell you about the guys that Tara met on the flight here (don’t give them too much hassle, they are from Calgary), well, there is Serge and Blair that are realtors and they bought a couple of suites in “The Peninsula” in Vallarta that are really, really, really, nice (big bucks) (but again don’t hold it against them). They took Tara to Sayulita to learn to surf and Serge came to Philo’s last night and came over and had some Mama Lucia orange tequila (as he is so lucky) and we made some Margarita’s (to die for) then Ross drove him to Bucerias Centro to get a cab to Vallarta (at 3am, but don’t tell anyone). Tara had forgotten her sunglasses and our towel in the van they rented so we had to get those back!!!!!!

Tara had a bit of a tummy bug most of the day, but after a snooze, some pepto-bismo and some pedalite she was feeling much better so we took her for a bit of a drive up the river and then went to Nuevo to The Riveria Restaurant where Jenn works. We introduced Jenn and Jean-Franco to Tara then proceeded to order dinner, Ross had his Mahi-Mahi, Tara had tortilla soup and I had my tequila shrimp, to die for.

We then drove to Vallarta to pick up Tara’s pants and stuff from Serge and Blair’s condo. Well…………….I have to tell you the condo only has two suites per floor and the HUGE French doors open up to a HUGE balcony overlooking the ocean and swimming pool! We are on the 12th floor. I can’t even start to explain this condo……………except to say it is fabulous but we still love our little white house in Bucerias! I think Ross took some pictures, if he did I will post them later this week………….ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

We had a Margareta there, met some other people that have also bought in this condo complex (she is 65 and ready to retire, but her husband she says is only 60 so he wants to work a couple of more years, they are realtors also) then said goodbye after about an hour. We got home around 10ish (?) our time changed Saturday night so we are now on standard time (we match Edmonton right now), and we chatted for a while then went to bed.

We got up this morning at 10ish (seems like a pattern here) and got to the ocean at about 1pm. I have to say we are having another beautiful day in paradise! The temp is about 30 with 60-70% humidity, quite nice I must admit! We are sitting in our beach chairs chatting (we are doing a lot of that) when a guy comes up to us to sell us some silver jewelry (what is the chance of that…..100%), we didn’t buy any but he told us he also does massages too, right now because it is so slow $250 pesos an hour, so Ross and I bought an hour, I had the first half and he had the other half. Wow, a massage on the beach! Life could be worse. The guy (Jimmy) really liked Tara so she got a shoulder and foot massage just because she’s cute.

We went home for a shower then went to the market in Vallarta, drove to Mismaloya to look at the wonderful homes they have up there, came back to Vallarta, walked the Malecon then went to Si Senor’s for supper. What a wonderful restaurant, Tara had fried cheese, Ross had Swordfish and I had a chimichanga (I haven’t had one in Mexico yet) with of course Margarita’s! The atmosphere was great, running water lots of candles and we had a guy that played a Mexican harp, made in La Cruz.

We drove home after a stop at Wal-Mart (Ross’s very good buddy at his Beaumont home group is dying of cancer and he bought him a stuffy for Tara to take home to give to Ross’s sponsor to give to him). We are now just chillin’, Tara is talking, of course to Evan in Fort McMurray, Ross is doing dishes after having some fruit (he will make someone a good wife one day) and I am eating some fruit, drinking wine, watching Holmes on Homes on TV and of course typing. My fingers are getting tired now so I think I may say goodnight for now.

Saturday October 24th, 2009

We woke up to another day in Paradise! The sun is shining and the birds are singing, we have family here………….what more could we possibly want?

Again it was 11 before we got our butts outta bed……..we have some really late nights……at least that is our story and we are sticking to it! After much fuddling (Ross of course) we finally got to the beach at about 1 and it was wonderful. We took chairs, umbrella’s, cooler, books, sunscreen….no wonder why we don’t do this all the time it takes lotsa work to get to the beach…we parked our chairs on the sand, Tara and Ross went into the ocean, I did too but just got my legs wet, put the umbrella in the sand for shade (me of course, I have to watch my skin) and read a bit, talked a bit and had a great time. About 3 we started to get nibbly so we packed up the car and drove a whole block to a restaurant called Oasis so Ross and Tara could have some poutine, I had some pollo tacos.

After the beach and lunch we drove home and lazed in the pool for an hour or two then I showered while Tara napped and Ross (of course) went shopping.

OH GOOD NEWS (well maybe, I don’t know) I CHANGED MY E-MAIL ADDRESS TO kimonthebeachinmexico@yahoo.com!!!!! I HAD TO!! IT JUST SEEMED SO RIGHT! So much for that.

We are now listening to a thunderstorm (it’s 5:13pm your time 6:13 our time) and Ross is up at our Bucerias Weather Station calling for Tara. Now, Tara just had a shower, put her makeup on, does he really think she is going to go up and get wet………I don’t know, now, she went out onto the patio and she hasn’t come back in……she loves thunderstorms too! Well, in case anyone cares, she did go up, what a daughter! I’m trying to watch The Dog Whisperer while I’m typing and it’s kinda hard as the satellite is going in and out because of the storm.

We are going to dinner at a fabulous Italian restaurant in downtown Bucerias for our Saturday night dinner then we are going to Philos again in La Cruz.

We’ll let you know how things went

Wednesday/Thursday/ Friday October 21 22 & 23rd, 2009
I have been very lax on my blog this week, it seems once we get visitors I can’t seem to find the time to sit! Let me see if my memory will be good to me so I can remember what has happened in the past 3 days!
We woke up Wednesday morning to rain, rain and more rain. It would slow down for a bit then come down hard, then slow down, come down hard, it did this most of the early morning and afternoon and early evening. We think of course it was the aftermath of hurricane Rick, I can’t remember when the last time was that we woke up to rain and it didn’t stop. We were really concerned with Tara coming in that day because there is not a lot worse than going on vacation and it raining while you are there! Even though the rainy season is just about over, Rick kinda screwed up the weather a little bit. It was so good to see Tara, once we got to Vallarta the rain stopped for a while, we haven’t seen her since just before we left Edmonton on the 2nd of July. She looks wonderful!
She hasn’t seen the inside of our house so it was fun for her to come into it for the first time. We got her settled and went out to meet up with Deb and Ron (our new friends) at Karen’s Place for supper but when we got there, I’m assuming because of the rain, they were closed so we went to the closest restaurant, Mark’s, (which we have been told by the locals “Don’t go there it’s way too expensive” ) and of course they were right. Wine was $10.00 a glass (my fault entirely, I didn’t check the price) and supper was ok but nothing great at it came out to over 1,000 pesos for 3 of us. To top it all off Ross put 2 500’s and another 100 in the receipt holder and the waiter came back and said we only put in 1 500.00 peso bill, not 2. What can you do? None of us actually watched Ross put in 2 500’s but still, when things are that expensive you are careful on how much money you pay with. Oh well, lesson learned, we won’t go there again.
However, Tara took us to a restaurant last night on the beach in Bucerias that was fantastic! The food was great, Tara and I shared a plate of different kind of Mexican food and Ross has some ribs that he really liked, the waiters and the owner were very personable and they even gave us their recipe for verde salsa that we were eating, does anyone know where to find dried chicken blood??? The restaurant is quite large and has those wonderful Mexican blankets as tablecloths, we will be back. Monday is shrimp and fish night, Wednesday is BBQ meat night (I think all you can eat) and Friday is Mexican night.
Tara and I drove to Vallarta yesterday to get her nails done and we got pedicures too. I warned her that it takes 2 hours for gel nails, but of course she didn’t believe me until 2 hours later we were done! They are very slow but soooooooooo good. Too bad that nails grow because every 2 or 3 weeks your back for the same length of time. Ross read on the blog that a new nail place is opening up across the street from Sandrina’s (where we went for Canadian Thanksgiving) which is not far from the office and they are advertising as a spa, so of course, that’s the next place I want to try. As much as I love where I go it takes an hour to drive there and back, we won’t even mention again that you are sitting there for 2 hours. Mike, a friend of ours, picked up Ross and took him to his house in La Cruz around 3ish so after we got our nails done we needed to go there to pick up Ross. We stopped first in Bucerias to pick up a couple of bottles of wine then stopped at the ocean as Tara still hadn’t seen it since she got here. I had only been to Mike’s house once and Ross did the driving so Tara and I went to go get lost. Surprising we didn’t, I drove right there, fancy that. We stayed for a while then went to Claudio’s for supper because we needed to get back in time (8:30pm) for our dog whisperer appointment.

Pam, Ross’s sister in France bought an hour of this lady’s time and she claims to be able to communicate with animals and she can let us know what they think (that is about the best I can explain it http://www.healingheartstrings.com/) As you know that Bandit is 15 years old and we think he is about ready to check out of this world and will continue onto rainbow bridge. He had stopped eating and won’t move much because of his arthritis. We actually went to a vet here and he has given us a couple of pills (for free) they are pain medication and an inflammatory that will make him, according the vet, want to run and jump, but don’t let him! Lori said that Bandit told her that he got some medication from us and he feels much better. You just don’t know!

I am so excited; I got Pam’s wedding invitation today. It is beautiful. I had to call her to touch base to see how everyone is doing. Pam is working way too hard and trying to get her education (through correspondence) finished! Wow that girl is way too busy!

Tara went to Sayulita today to learn how to surf! She met some guys on the airplane and they called her to ask if she wanted to go surfing with them. They knew she didn’t know how so they taught her today. How wonderful. They brought her home just now, we don’t know what we are going to do tonight, Tara had pizza earlier and we of course had ribs with some very good friends for a buy one lunch get one free in Vallarta. Ross, I think now, looks like a rib (he ate his, some of mine and some of other peoples, cause he is a pig).

I now have to go and look through, are you ready for this, an AVON catalog! I was letting the dogs out last night and an older lady showed me her catalog’s she is coming back tomorrow for an order! Only in Mexico! Of course you have to know that this lady does not understand English and of course I don’t understand Spanish. She came to my house talking a mile a minute in Spanish knowing I have no idea what she is saying! I love Mexico.

Tuesday/Wednesday October 20th & 21st, 2009

After the meeting with Sue I came back home to a still sleeping husband. I woke him up long enough to let him know I was driving into Vallarta to get my nails done. It takes ½ hour to get there, 2 hours for them to do my nails, and ½ hour to drive back (only if you don’t stop in at Wal-Mart) but of course I did so I was gone probably 4 hours, wow! At Wal-Mart I found some cough medicine, I’m right out now, then found some Pepsi on sale, got some cat food and litter a bit of yogurt and now I’m set for a while.

We were supposed to be at Mandy’s house around 3ish, She is the owner of Britannia (a club in La Cruz) and we are putting together a band to raise money for the food bank. They will play once a month at the club and all money collected will be donated to the fund. Her house is actually in Punta Esmeralda right on the beach. It actually belongs to her parents but she is living there, beautiful. A pool in the front yard, a huge veranda facing the ocean, I never went inside but wow it’s huge! We got there around 4ish, Mike was there playing the guitar, Peggy on bass, Leon on banjo and/or washboard and Ross will be playing drums. Now Leon is a hoot! He has to be at least 80 and is soooooooo much fun, he has a twinkle in his eye and wears support hose with this runners and shorts.

We left around 5:15 so we could get me home so Ross could make his meeting. I still felt crappy last night, I lounged in the pool for a while then went to lie down to watch some TV then off to sleep. The cough medicine worked better than the vicks but I was still up at 1am coughing.

It’s now 2:15 on Tuesday, Ross has just left to check with the vet to see if there is anything he can do for Big Dog. Ross’s sister Pam has graciously offered to pay for a telephone visit with an animal communicator (http://www.healingheartstrings.com/) that actually can communicate with Big Dog and maybe do a bit of Reiki on him. We have scheduled the call for 8:30 our time on Thursday, we will see how it goes. Thanks Pam. The only thing Big Dog would eat (up until just now) for the past week are raw steaks that Ross has been buying for him. He won’t touch his food but is still drinking. I woke up to pee in my bathroom this morning, a lot of it, I got it all cleaned up and was hoping it was Big dog not Gracie doing this. I just found out a couple minutes ago that it must have been Big Dog. He had gotten up had a long drink, walked outside and peed on the cement in our backyard, he was headed for the gate but couldn’t hold it. He went outside for a bit but asked to come in right away, poor Gracie she doesn’t know what is going on!
Ross has gone to talk to Juan about our trailer (will it ever sell?) go pickup Jennifer because she wants to see Big Dog and then will talk to the vet and see if he will make a house call. Big Dog won’t be able to get into the car and he is way too heavy for us to lift and there maybe something the vet can do for him.
We are off to Britannia for a rehearsal of the charity band at 5:30 and might stay for the regular band we’ll see. I’m gonna see if I can catch a few winks before Ross and Jenn get back, I’m still not feeling great yet!
Still no rehearsal for the fun charity band, we took Ross’s electric drums over to Mike’s house in La Cruz and then went to Britannia to hang out and chill. I helped Mandy (the owner of the bar) put some table clothes on the tables then ordered some fish and chips, they were great. Mandy is from England and her pub is of course an English pub with some great food on the menu. We got home at about 11ish and went to bed soon after.
Good morning, it is a very rainy Wednesday! It has been raining off and on I think all night with it coming down really hard, then letting up, then coming down hard again. Ross’s chair was all wet when we sat on the patio drinking our coffee. Not a really nice day for Tara to be arriving, she is here for a week but from Friday on it’s supposed to be really nice, kinda cloudy and rainy until then. Ross just took off to Mega to get some canned dog food for Bandit, he still isn’t eating his regular food.
I’ll say bye for now, talk to you soon!

Sunday October 18th, 2009

Another day of beautiful weather, it is kinda cloudy cause of Rick, but all in all, we are in Mexico so who can complain. We really didn’t do much today, just kinda chilled. We are sad these past few days, Big Dog hasn’t eaten for a few days and will only lay on the rug in our bedroom, coming out when Ross brought some meat home but going right back into the bedroom again. Big Dog is going on 16 and has been taking glucosamine twice a day for a few years for his arthritis but will not take his pills anymore, we think he is just about done. He is healthy otherwise and has bright eyes and loves being loved but lays down I think knowing that these are his last days. He has been such a good and happy dog these past 14 – 15 years he has been with us enjoying the lake and loved to lay down in the shallows to cool off. We so hate to see him go, but we know he has had a good life and everyday is now an extra day!

Mike and Nick is over and has been over since about 3 (it’s now 8) to play with Ross. Nick plays guitar and Mike bass and they want to record some originals. We had a bit of a break and had some very good Mama Lucia tequila so they are feeling much better now and they are playing some Pink Floyd and some other good stuff. Me, I’m typing my blog being a good girl?!?!?!? I have had some very good wine………………….Tequila…………… Mike and Nick have invited us to, I think, a jam session with hamburgers and stuff tomorrow afternoon so we showed them how to get back to the 200 and then followed them to ? Esmeralda (I can’t remember if it is Point or Lake or something else entirely) so I think we are going to go.

Well it’s Monday morning the sky is very grey, it’s only 28 degrees outside (It’s 9:30am) with 82% humidity. Do you think it’s gonna rain????? Hurricane Rick is sure screwing up our weather! I’m up early because we are having another meeting at Sue’s house in regards to the adoption of the animals. I’m supposed to be there at 10:00, right now I’m drinking coffee outside (it’s sprinkling) and it is a relief not to be so hot and sticky. Shadow is the only brave one outside with me the rest are in the lovely air conditioning of the bedroom, along of course, with Ross.

Big Dog isn’t doing very well. He hasn’t been eating very much and won’t even take his glucosamine which he normally takes like a treat. We think that he is getting ready to go to the rainbow bridge. The day will be sad, but he has had such a life! Running around the lake with buddy and Kayla and now Gracie, going to the ocean in Vancouver and here not knowing why it tastes different than the lake. He has seen many sights and has had many years of growing up, then old, now ready for the next step. Boy it sure is hard. His back legs can’t carry him much anymore they are wobbly and look disjointed and painful to walk on. But, ya know, when another dog got into the house last night (actually I let her in, she is a street dog but so loveable) he sure got up and came into the living to show this is his house!

Well, gotta get to Sue’s house for 10 so I’ll say goodbye for now and I hope everyone has a great day!

Saturday October 17th, 2009

Boy, is it ever yucky being sick! I can’t seem to shake this cold I have and the coughing is doing both Ross and I in! I am constantly hacking, especially at night, No Sleep! It’s 1:30 this fine Saturday afternoon, I’m still drinking my morning coffee and it is a bit on the dull side right now. There is a hurricane off the coast that brought a wondrous lightning storm and some stormy rain last night. I bet you it stormed for a good 3-4 hours with lightning the whole entire time! If I wasn’t so tired I would have sat up and watched some of it with Ross.

We had handyman come over the other day and Ross and him went out to get some acrylic sheets to cover our skylights in our bathrooms so the rain would not come in and get our toilet paper all wet, but alas, it did not work. I got up to go potty early this morning and the bathroom floor was just soaked. Oh well, I guess we will have to live with it, we can’t think of doing anything else with it. And again I really need to stress the fact that I live in MEXICO and wake up in MEXICO every single morning and I LOVE it! I can deal with a little water in my bathroom!

We went to the Twisted Rose for dinner tonight, it’s funny because I’m not feeling great I’m not really hungry so I ordered shrimp with a salad and got a shrimp burger with a salad, well I ate the shrimp and the salad along with the cucumber and tomatoes and left the bun, Harold didn’t want it! (Neither did Ross, go figure). We met some really nice people from Calgary that just arrived tonight and that want to live here and have brought things down for their condo.

We had a great night but we are still not feeling well, and here we are in our living room (in of course Mexico) watching NCIS, both on our computers, me doing my blog and Ross looking at his email and of course tracking Rick! I feel cold and clammy and coughing up my other lung so I think I’ll say goodnight for now wait another 25 minutes until the show is over, it’s a good one we haven’t seen before then will go to bed to hack up the other one……………….again!

Waiting to see who killed the guard on NCIS

Tuesday October 13th & Wednesday October 14th, 2009

Wow it is hard waking up early (8am) when you are used to sleeping in. I still feel like crap, sore throat and all but I woke up in Mexico today so all is good. I’m still thinking about the turtles we saw last night on the beach, what an amazing sight it was. Oh well, I digress! I have a weather program on my computer and I have on my task bar the weather for Edmonton, Greenville and here in Bucerias. Edmonton is -5, Greenville is -1 and it says here it is 24 does anyone want to ask me why we moved here????? I am sitting here on my outside patio drinking my coffee and looking at a blue sky with only streaks of clouds. Tigger is having his daily bath and everything is good. I went over to Sue and Harold’s house to meet and chat with a girl by the name of Molly and another girl and 2 guys that are looking after the animal adoptions (spay & neuter clinics also) wanting to bring up to date on what is going on and what will be our course of action this year. We all agreed that education is monumental and they have colouring books that they drop off at the primary schools along with someone to talk to them in regards to looking after their pets and making sure they don’t have babies. The colouring books and I believe more information is at the booth when we do the adoptions. I think we are going to have adoptions once a month at the Mega and we will make sure the owners of the animals stay with the animals until either they get adopted or they take them home with them. Apparently the people were leaving the animals at the adoption tent and not picking them up which means Carol the girl in charge ended up with a whole bunch of animals in her back yard.

Since neither one of us are feeling good we didn’t do much yesterday, I stayed at home and slept and Ross went to fix the Elements sign (It was off one of its hinges) and then paid the phone bill, wow, excitement or what. We stayed in and made spaghetti for supper last night and I went to bed early and Ross went to Britannia only because he told Ralph he was going so Ralph went because Ross said he would go……….So Ross went.

I had a fitful sleep last night, coughing and tossing and turning. Shay called at 10:30 this morning letting us know that Lily wasn’t going to clean our house today because of a school thing her daughter was in so she is coming tomorrow instead, which was good because I really didn’t want to get up. I think we crawled out of bed around noon and drank our coffee outside on our patio looking up at our blue sky with a few fluffy clouds. The temp is reading 35 and the humidity is around 60% not bad.

Tara, Ross’s daughter is coming to visit next Wednesday and will be staying a week with us. It will be good to see her. I think we will be visiting the beach a little more while she is here!

We have finally booked the hotel for Pamela’s wedding wow it costs a lot of money at a 5 star resort! Between the airfare and hotel it is costing us up to 3,000, and I haven’t even bought a mother of the bride dress yet. I think I will go and get my nails done on Tuesday next week then stop into Liverpool to see what they have. I saw one there about a month ago but couldn’t try it on so I hope it will be there next week or of course another one just as good or better.

I floated in the pool for about half an hour then Ross came in and decided to clean up the bottom of the pool, which means there were floaty things everywhere. Yuck! I got out, took a shower now we are contemplating on whether or not we will go to Costco or not, it’s already 3:30pm so I don’t know if we are going to go or not. Well I think that’s it for now.

See you soon

Monday October 12th, 2009

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! It never ceases to amaze me where there is not one thing that makes me wish I wasn’t here and everyday it seems that I find something to be thankful for here. We had woken up pretty lake, neither one of us are feeling well, Ross is just getting over what he had and I am just starting a cold, I think. My throat is sore and I have been having cold sweats and just not feeling well. We went to Mega to get some water and a few other things and once we got home we were wondering whether or not we should go out for Thanksgiving supper. We decided that we would go and when we were driving we drove past Dick and Mary Carmen’s house and they were out walking their dogs. We stopped to say hi and went to see if we could find the Sandrina restaurant. We weren’t quite sure where it was all we knew it was on Cardenas somewhere. We started at the De Cameron and started north. We found the restaurant about ½ the way down to the market and went in. What a wonderful restaurant! It was like a store at the front with a whole bunch of stuff to buy (the normal) but when you went to the back courtyard it was amazing, everywhere is trees and plants and what an atmosphere. We ordered the turkey dinner of course and got a basket of wonderful bread and butter. Before we got through that they brought a salad, wow, it had a vinaigrette dressing with shredded mozza cheese on top, excellent! We got a huge plate of turkey, dressing, some fabulous mashed potatoes, and the broccoli was very good, kinda spicy.

It has been windy all afternoon and driving to the restaurant we caught glimpses of the ocean and the waves were super high. We decided to stop to hear the ocean before we went home so after supper we went to our beach spot and walked down to the beach. We were there not 5 minutes when we saw a turtle lumbering up right at us and started digging a hole for her eggs. Just when she started to dig the hole another one came up and started to dig her hole, there was another one too to the right of where we were. We watched until it got too dark then we came home. It was so windy at the beach I felt on my skin salt and sand so I took a shower, I feel so much better now. I wasn’t going to write my blog tonight cause I was feeling so yucky, but after seeing the turtles I had to. See the pictures I took!

Sunday October 11th, 2009

It is so good to be back…………………well I think so, I got up at 9 and haven’t stopped until about ½ hour ago 4:15????????????? The bed sheets have been changed and washed all my laundry is done, except for whatever is in the dryer. I have put together the shelf for all the pool stuff and drilled holes in the plant pots that didn’t have any. I planted our gorgeous pink trailing flower that we hope climbs up our wall, the second one died so we need to get another and a lot more dirt!

Just checked the weather, it’s -4 in Edmonton, 19 in Greenville South Carolina and 31 here, don’t you just love it! I made supper, (that in itself is phenomenal) we had sloppy Joes on toasted buns (Ross says everything tastes better when the bun is toasted) with corn on the cob (kinda mushy) and some cheese, sliced tomatoes and some peas in a pod (we didn’t have a lot in the fridge) it was very nummy! Ross is watching Deadliest Catch and I’m trying to get our Cancun vacation booked and I just want to check with Pamela to make sure we got the right hotel before I book it and she doesn’t answer her phone! She might have gone away for the long weekend.

Well I hate to say this but I think that’s it for today. Got a lot done, I’m tired and need to go soak in the pool then off to bed!

I will put some pictures on the blog of Stacy’s house and my darling children and grandchildren. Stacy the pictures of the house and Betsy are for you. Hopefully I’ll have more to say tomorrow.

Friday October 9th & Saturday October 10th, 2009

I am sitting at the airport in Mexico City while I’m writing this, the past couple of days have been hectic. I woke up at about 10ish and had coffee and some fabulous banana bread that Jessie made. Stacy and Jessie with the kids went to Jessie’s work to pick up her disability cheque and got home just in time to have coffee with me. We looked on line at the place where Pamela and Derek are getting married, I was going to book but I thought it would be a good idea to have the dates for sure on our airline tickets, so I’ll book probably tomorrow.

We picked Cami up from school at 1 and made the long drive to Atlanta. We stopped at a city called Commerce and went to the outlet mall and it was there I found my plastic margarita glasses that I have been looking for everywhere, I wasn’t quite sure where in my suitcase I was going to put them as it is pretty well packed solid. (We weighed the suitcase and it weighed 49 lbs, I only had 1 pound to play with!) After we had gone through almost all the stores we continued our drive to Atlanta and hit rush hour traffic, which actually was why we left so early so we would miss it. We plugged in Red Lobster in the GPS and found one close to where we were so that’s where we went for supper. I had lobster (of course, can’t go there and not get it) and 2 different kinds of shrimp, Jessie had shrimp and salmon and Stacy had all you can eat shrimp. Boy were we full.

We stopped at a grocery store and picked up a couple of toothbrushes and shampoo, Stacy and the gang stayed overnight with me and drove me to the airport in the morning. Yuck, it was awful getting up at 6am for a 9am flight! After we got my luggage checked we stopped at a restaurant for a bagel and coffee. I only had a half of the bagel and about 5 sips of coffee before I had to get in line for security. Leaving the Atlanta airport was a lot easier than arriving there, not so many hoops to jump.

The flight was uneventful, my headphones didn’t work very well so I gave up trying to watch a movie, I think I might have dozed a bit, I can’t sleep on the plane but I think I got a little down time. I got to Mexico City (it is huge it seems like we fly over the city for hours before we land!) at about 12:30 and stopped at Starbucks and had a coffee with a ham and cheese croissant I bought at another store. I found a 7-11 at the airport, I took a picture of it and bought some water and asked for a bag because I’m sure Ross won’t believe me, it seems like they might have pushed into Mexico??? It’s 3pm now, in about 20 minutes I have to go and ask what gate my flight will be at, they never know until the last minute. I leave here at 4:05 and get home at 5:30! I’m so looking forward to seeing Ross and our kids (BigDog, Gracie, Shadow, Tigger and of course Sunshine) and just sitting or maybe floating in the pool (I found some floaty things in SC that we were looking for, well not the exact ones but ones awful close). So I’ll say bye for now and will update everyone tomorrow!

Wednesday October 7th & Thursday October 8th, 2009

It is really Thursday as it is 12:10 our time and 1:10 SC time, boy have we had a discussion! Stacy got home at 6 and we had Stacy burritos. It starts out with a large tortilla on your plate, you smear refried beans in the middle then add hamburger with taco sauce then add salsa and cheese. Fold over and add more salsa and cheese and microwave for about 30 seconds or so, take out of microwave add lettuce tomatoes and sour cream and eat! It was very good. Stacy has a really bad cold and we all were supposed to go to a bible study but with Stacy feeling so bad Jessie went with the kids and we stayed at home and started having a very long discussion on religion! That is what made us so late to go to bed, Jessie fell asleep on Stacy on the couch and by the time we decided to head upstairs Melanie started fussing cause it was her supper time. So Stacy and Jessie are downstairs with Melanie and I am typing this and will then go to sleep. My throat is very sore too, it has been for a few days now, but it seems to be getting worse. Oh well, a good sleep can fix anything…………….can’t it?

Good morning, what a wonderful sleep! I just feel so bad about Ross not feeling well and not sleeping. Boy oh boy when I get back home I’ll have to fix him right up. I had homemade banana bread for breakfast with 2 cups of coffee. We watched tv for a while then went up to have a shower. We called Delta airlines because my itinery is all screwed up, it has me leaving here at 9:10 am Saturday and getting into PV at 11 something, I have an almost 5 hr layover in Mexico City then I leave Atlanta at 4 something and get into PV at 6 something! I leave here at 9:10 have an almost 5 hour layover in Mexico City and get into PV at about 5:50.

We were sitting in the living room and at about 1 or so Stacy walks in, he got all his work done that needed to get done so he took the rest of the day off and tomorrow too. We have to leave for Atlanta tomorrow as I am spending the night there so no one has to get up at 4 and drive there (It’s 2 hours away). After Melanie had lunch we took off to downtown Greenville, it is a very quaint downtown. Some Collage kids decided to do an assignment for school to make downtown more fun so with everyone’s ok they have created a mouse hunt. You can print off the paper with the clues on it from the internet and you follow the clues to find the mice. The mice are made of brass and they are cemented to the sidewalk or attached to an awning above a shop. Cami had a great time. We walked around a bit there is a river that runs through the city and they have cleaned it all up and have created a huge public space with benches, flowers, shrubs and walkways. It was kinda weird we were sitting down on a wall in the centre of a very nice area and there was a police officer standing not very far away from us and there was a bad guy sitting on the wall with handcuffs on. We hit 2 candy stores but I can’t find the candies that I can only find in Banff called sprogs.

We stopped to pick up the flyers that Stacy and Jessie deliver every Thursday then we came home to some very good veggy soup with warmed up bread and corn bread. I love corn bread! Stacy and Jessie are out doing the papers and Cami is helping me babysit Melanie. We had a great time playing, it is so good to be with children again, but I know it will also be nice to hear quiet too! We are all pretty tired tonight it’s 11:30 here and Jessie is asleep on the couch, Stacy is sitting on the other end of the couch with Melanie and I can’t keep my eyes open much longer.

Tuesday October 6th& Wednesday October 7th, 2009

It is still Monday night about 10pm Jalisco time, 11pm SC time and I have just gotten to bed. It is still rainy and cold, Jessie lent me a pair of sock slippers, and we put up some Halloween decorations outside, well we didn’t, Stacy and kinda sorta Cami did, we now have a big pile of 4 pumpkins on the front lawn and some purple rope lighting (I want that on my stairs) along the sidewalk of the garage and around the mailbox. Stacy tried the strobe light in the bathroom off the front entrance and it was cool looking as the window faces the street, we tried the garage but the light wasn’t bright enough to fill the whole space so I guess they will put it on the front veranda cause it looks neat there.

One of the ladies of their church stopped in this afternoon and dropped off a soup with sour cream and shredded cheese with a loaf of very fat bread because of Melanie coming into this world. A lot of the church people they know has been dropping off food since Mel was born to help out the family. So this is what we had for supper tonight. The soup had shredded chicken with tomatoes and beans and corn, it was very nummy! After supper I gave Stacy his birthday card as it has been a rule of late that around his birthday something bad happens, so I decided since I brought him into this world I could change his birth date and make it a happy occasion rather than an unhappy one. Stacy and I drank some wine that we had purchased in the largest wine store in Greenville SC and Jessie and Cami had some great apple grape sparkling wine as Cami is only 5 and Jessie is breastfeeding Melanie. We had some ice cream for dessert. I plugged in the laptop just to make sure that it works before I pack it away in the suitcase and it seems to be working fine. Well gotta go to sleep now, talk to you in the morning!

Good morning. It’s about 10am (I slept in) and Stacy is at work at Jessie was emptying the dishwasher ( I don’t have one of those anymore and I really don’t miss it). I had a cup of coffee and one Jess was done feeding Melanie she said lets go shopping before the next feeding. So no shower, but I waited at least an hour before Jess was ready (she is after all from Costa Rica so she is slower than us Canadians) we took off to Holly Lobby which is a Michael’s in disguise, and we wondered around there for a bit, I bought Melanie her first Christmas stocking and I got a few battery operated fans. Nest we went to Wal-Mart to get most of the things on my list, a pre-trea ter for laundry, corn oil and good brown sugar for popcorn balls, some poultry seasoning for turkey dressing and some more little stuff. After Wal-Mart we needed to get home to feed Melanie and wait for Cami to get home from Kindergarten (she gets a ride from another Mum).

When Melanie was fed and Cami came home we went to the mall. I found 2 shower towels from Victoria Secrets, some trivets from a kitchen store that Ross would have died and gone to heaven in and the lip gloss I have been hording for 3 years cause it is sooooooooooo good! Once we left the mall we stopped at a pool supply store and I found some floaty things (not quite the same but pretty darn close) to the one we bought in Edmonton. He actually had sold out of the floaty thing I wanted and asked if I wanted him to order one in, I told him that I was visiting and he said what I bought was about the same thing.

While I was in the pool store Jessie called Stacy and they decided we were to meet at Cracker Barrel (The best restaurant in the south to eat) for supper as Mum (me) decided to pay for dinner and we only had today to do it as the rest of the evenings I will be here are busy. We got to the restaurant and shopped in the store, it is magnificent this store, it has a little bit of everything, Christmas stuff, Halloween stuff, kitchen stuff and so much more you will have to go onto their website (if they have one) to see what else they have, It is my favorite restaurant in the south!!!!! I was very good about buying stuff, I only bought a couple of smelly tea cup coasters and a Christmas shelf guy that matches my snowmen I have for Christmas. (You would have to see it to know what I mean).

After supper we came back home (Stacy has a cold and is not feeling well at all) and he made a fire pit outside, and we all sat outside and told ghost stories and once Cami was asleep we talked about other things. It was so nice to stop and just sit! We came inside after awhile and then slowly went upstairs to bed. Stacy went first as he needs to get up early for work then Jess and I went up at about the same time. It is very tired out. I have spoken with Ross tonight and he is not feeling well at all. He has a fever of 102 and is feeling really lousy, I feel so bad that I can’t be there for him.

Good morning, I hope everyone slept well, I feel great. Slept in until 10ish came down stairs and had a good cup of coffee and chatted with Jessie for a while. After coffee I went upstairs to have a shower and see if I need to go buy another suitcase or not, which I still don’t know for sure, I think everything will fit?????? I have spoken with Ross and he thinks the fever broke this morning, now he is just really tired and lethargic, he still thinks he needs to go find a turkey, I told him not to we can have a chicken instead but oh no he is going to go out anyway! Lily is coming at 11:30 to clean so Ross thinks he can go out then. I reminded him of the last time we left Lily on her own, we got lost and didn’t get home for a long while and I think she was scared that we were never going to come back.

Jessie made 3 banana breads, one for us, one for the lady that picks up Cami from school and one for the bible study we are going to tonight. It should be quite interesting going as I have never gone to one. Jessie is cleaning the kitchen and I’m writing this and babysitting at the same time.

Sunday October 4th & Monday October 5th, 2009

Good evening from South Carolina. What a wonderful day it has been today, a bit on the chilly side but that is what sweaters are for. After breakfast we putzed around, I did a lot of baby holding and I changed her diaper. Now it has been awhile so I’m kinda rusty when it comes to changing diapers, I had the clean one out took off the dirty one and was cleaning a little butt when she was not quite finished doing her business so she pooped again. I did not, I repeat, did not have the clean diaper under her so between Stacy and I (mostly Stacy) we cleaned up the mess and I got the clean diaper on, hurray for me!

Since we got up so late Stacy and Jessie had decided we were going to go to church at 5, but we were so late getting up and going, decided against going to church and we started on my shopping list I have. We stopped at Best Buy first and found a HP laptop for 549.00, with dual processor and 3 GB of ram, we are going to look on line to see if we can get it cheaper, if we can we will have them deliver here in 2 days and I’ll be able to take it home, if not we will go back and get that one. I found a Spanish/English translator there too, however we stopped in at Office Max and found one for 4.00 cheaper, oh well. We then went to a sporting goods store to look for a floaty for the pool but they didn’t have anything for pools, so we went to Petsmart and got a larger cat door, some kitty treats (that by the way when I got ready for bed tonight one of Stacy’s cats had gotten into one of the bags, she is laying right beside me on the bed as I type, her very favorite person) and a dog brush.

We got to Bed Bath and Beyond (no floaties for the pool) but found a couple of towels, some plastic wine glasses, a cheap pair of standard size pillowcases in the colour I needed and a few other odds and ends. Oh yeah, I have been looking for a device that scans photos and converts them to a jpeg file to store all my old pictures on the computer, wanted to give the actual pictures to the kids. I found one regular price 179.00 on sale for 129.00 with an in store rebate so I got it for 59.00. I bought Stacy and Jessie for a house warming present some glasses that Jessie fell in love with that matches her dishes. We stopped at a restaurant with a bakery in it looking for some hamburger buns for supper but had to go to a grocery store for them.

Once back home Jessie made up some hamburger for supper, put beans and corn in pots to heat and went to feed Melanie. Stacy made a very skinny hamburger added a piece of cheese in the centre and added another skinning hamburger and mushed them together. He had seen this done on TV and thought it looked good, well they were, trust me. Cami had cheese tortilla’s (she wanted me to add what she had to eat) .He also went out and started a fire pit so once supper was done we were going to sit in front of the fire and catch up. I even got my jeans on (they still fit hurray!) a shirt and two sweaters but it started to rain after supper so we got our jammies on, and ate pistachios, watched the move The Incredibles and I held Melanie for a very long time, it was wonderful. I also had a great cup of tea I can’t remember the name of the tea but it was very cherry. It’s 10:40 my time and 11:40 SC time and I have taken my bedtime pills and am now getting very sleepy. I’m going to say goodnight now, from Jordan’s bedroom with a cat at my side.

Good morning! I had a fabulous sleep though waking up at 9am is a little too early for me but oh well. Jessie made a French toast in a square cake pan with brown sugar and walnuts; it was to die for, along with coffee and juice. The rain hasn’t stopped so it’s kinda dreary out and chilly, I might have to pick up some socks at Wal-Mart. We sat around for a bit, Stacy and I went to pick up cami from school then drove south a very very long way to meet up with a girl that advertised a child carrying back pack for Melanie next summer for hiking and stuff, we picked it up for 25.00, it looks like new and is in perfect condition. When we got back to Greenville we stopped at a liquor store and then went back to Best Buy to pick up the laptop (the computer one wasn’t that cheap). We are about to have some supper so I’ll say bye for now.

Talk to you soon

Saturday October 3, 2009

Hola everyone from the PV airport, I am sitting at gate 16 waiting to board Delta flight (something).

We got to Yo Yo Moes last night at 8pm Jalisco time in Sayulita and I think found the last parking spot in front of the bar. The only drum Ross brought with him was his good snare and, of course, his sticks. They were going to play outside so they started setting up and I noticed the closest table to the band an older couple was sitting there, I jokingly said to them that they were sitting at my table and they retorted back “we got here first”. I sat at the bar on the bar stool (I’m thinking there is no way I will be able to sit there all night) and someone asked me where I was flying to in the morning. After I answered “The Carolina’s” the older couple asked me which one. We started to talk and they invited me to their table as they were going to leave before the music started so I could have the table. It turns out that this couple (he is I think in his 70’s and she is in her 60’s) met in an old folks home and decided that their social security was not cutting it in the states so the both packed 2 bags, had a carry on each and flew to Mexico to LIVE! Wow! They are renting a house in Sayulita (they use the bus system which is great) for $500.00 a month which includes maid service and laundry service! All they have to pay for is their personal shit and food. They are a couple of blocks from the beach and they are looking to get their FM3’s but she doesn’t make enough money so they would have to get married! People we know from elements, Philo’s, El Groupo (sp) and Britannia came to visit and sit with us, at one point I think we were a party of 8.

They were having problems with the PA system so Ralph had to drive home to get his own so they could play. They were supposed to have started at 8 but after everything was said and done, I think they started around 9:30 and just after midnight it started to rain. What a great band, very accomplished, Ross was sitting in for the drummer as he had had eye surgery on his left eye and his eye was still tired, so they both played off and on all night. The band is called Rock of Ages; (sorry about the delay there, Ross called and we chatted for a while) they play a little bit of everything.

We finally boarded and it was a very uneventful flight. It took about about 3 ½ hours to get to Atlanta and 2 hours to get to where Stacy, Jessie, Cami and Melanie were waiting for me because of homeland security. I stood in line for at least ¾ hour waiting for customs to process hundreds of people; they now take finger prints and pictures of everyone except Canadians, then they ask where you are going, where are you staying, reason of the visit and how long are you staying for. After that you to get your luggage from the plane then drop it off on a conveyer belt to go through a scanner while you go through security, of course that means taking off your shoes, belt and put everything in the buckets to get scanned. Then you go onto a train that stops at 5 other gates to get to the front of the airport, meet who you are meeting then you have to find your luggage on another carousel then you can leave, this process was at least an hour and a half long, I don’t think I want to come here again! I will fly into another airport! That was just insane.

It was so good to see everyone and baby Melanie is just adorable, she is so little and looks so much like my son when he was a baby. We got to the car and started going north, had to do a little detour because of some highway construction, we stopped at IHOP so Jessie could feed little Melanie and Stacy, Cami and I went into the restaurant and had breakfastsupper! It took at least 2 hours to get to the house and it is beautiful. It has 4 bedrooms a den a beautiful kitchen overlooking a magnificent back yard. There is a lake at the end and in the yard there are beautiful huge trees and a small deck that is going to get a lot bigger! We stayed up, of course, and chatted for a bit then I went upstairs and slept in Jordan’s room.

I woke up at about 9:30 and had a great breakfast of blueberry pancakes, eggs and sausage that my darling son made. It was awesome! I got to hold Melanie for a bit then upstairs to shower and get ready for the day. We are now sitting down in the living room watching the incredible hulk! Pamela called to make sure I arrived safely (my children love me), she is on her way to work as she needs to print off some more wedding invitations, she guesses 60 wasn’t enough! I have spoken with Ross, it’s 34 and very humid today at home, here it is quite comfortable, not too hot and not at all humid.

Gotta go and help Jessie clean the kitchen.

Love and hugs to all

Thursday & Friday October 1st & 2nd, 2009

We got water yesterday afternoon, yeah! I had a lovely shopping day yesterday, I took off to the Soriana Mall and spent 2 hours getting my nails done (boy are they slow) and in the mean time I decided to get a pedicure too. My nails and toes are very happy! When I was in PV the “Mariner of the Sea” cruise ship was in port, it is so nice to see cruise ships docked. Ross read in the paper of the schedules of the cruise ships coming into PV and there was supposed to be 7 in this week. We went to Jenn’s restaurant, Riviera, for supper last night, Ross had calamari and mahi-mahi and I had a great plate of spaghetti with hamburger.

After supper we drove to La Cruz to Philo’s for a bit of music. Ross played for a set and a little bit more, it was a nice night, not too hot and it didn’t rain, but there were a bit of thunder going on in the background. We got home around 1 and jumped into the pool, I don’t think we actually got to bed until 3. We sure slept in this morning, at almost noon Eugene called (he is a guitar player that just got back from a couple of weeks in Greenville (go figure)) and he wanted to know what was happening. Ross called him back a bit later and filled him in on what is going on. Gene and his wife are moving close to Lake Chapala soon, we are going to miss him, he is a nice guy, we have never met his wife. I think there is a road trip in our future!

Well it’s almost 1:30 and we are still in our jammies, however we have finished our coffee so it’s almost time to shower and see if our car will be ready to be picked up. That is about the only thing we have planned for this afternoon, we dropped by the market in Bucerias Wednesday and I got a couple more dresses for Melanie and Cami (my SC grandbabies) so I don’t have to get anything else (I don’t think) before I leave tomorrow.

I have everything in the suitcase for Stacy and the gang, since I have water now I did my last wash yesterday (jeans yuck!) so I can pack my clothes today because we won’t have much time for packing tomorrow. We are driving to Sayulita to the grand opening of Yo Yo Moes (a chain of sports bars) Ross is playing in the band tonight (for money!) so we won’t get home until quite late as Sayulita is a good half hour drive from here and they are playing from 8 – 12. Then we have a breakfast meeting at Ixta for the Bucerias group we belong to and then I need to get to the airport by noon as my flight leaves at 2.

I am going to post this now and will work on later tonight tomorrow when I’m at the airport. I have internet there so I can post the blog. The next blog you will read will be from Simpsonville SC with my family! I’m so excited!

Ross and Kim in Paradise!

Ps: I am posting a picture of a bug we found on our table when we got home last night. We went to pick it up to take him outside and he lit up like a lightning bug. He had 2 spots on his head above his eyes that are shining, I guess to scare off predators. So cool.
