Pictures Gracie, Shadow, Jake with Yoda, the blue dress and the olive green dress.

Feliz Año Nuevo!
Wow what a way to bring in the New Year, there were fireworks, balloons, noisemakers, hats………………..I think mine is on the floor of the car! Crazy Nellys was great, I brought Yoda with me to keep me company and he did a great job, the only problem was, he kept inside his little house when the band was playing. I put a sweater around the outside of the cat carrier to soften the noise, I guess it worked.

Everyone warned us about driving the 200 on New Year’s Eve (it is normally crazy, so I guess it is crazier than normal) and to top it all off we had a blue moon! So let me get this straight, 1) the policia in their infinite wisdom, stopped using the check stops (with breathalyzers) for the Christmas season as they didn’t want to offend the tourists 2) it is New Year’s eve so all the drunk people are out 3) we have a full moon! Okay, let’s just get on the busiest highway in Mexico, drive 45 minutes to a New Year’s Eve party! Actually most of the traffic was going south into the bay so we really didn’t have a lot of traffic to contend with and we had a guy ahead of us going a good speed so if anyone decided to pass going south and they couldn’t quite make it, they would crash into the car ahead of us (don’t laugh, Ross and I discussed this)! It is sad but true, I really can’t remember the trip back as I fell asleep almost instantly when I got into the car. We didn’t get home until after 4, then Ross decided he was hungry so he made some pork chops. I went to bed…………….we woke up a few times, to go pee (ok too much information (TMI)), get a drink, let the dogs out, get cat off my ear, eyeball, eyebrow, neck, listen to the dog fall off the bed…twice……….

We woke up, for good, at about 1:30 this afternoon, had coffee and really, really wanted to go back to bed, but we toughed it out playing on the computer, talking to family, sweeping and washing the floor (yuck) and stuff like that. We left around 5:30 for Ross to go to his meeting and me to take back the dress I bought for the wedding (Pam told me NO white but didn’t tell me NO tan) and see if I could find another. I got a refund for my tan dress (which is a feat in itself as Mexico does not like giving money back) without too much of a hassle (I only had to fill in an 8 1/2 X 11 piece of paper) and I went searching for another. I went into another small shop and after picking out 10 dresses and none I could either find in my size or was the right colour, I picked out an olive green long dress with a silver shawl and purse to match (see pictures, don’t look at me………I look way too fat, need to lose some weight). I really hope she likes this one! I found another blue one, just what I was looking for but she only had it in medium, I took pictures so if Pam doesn’t like the green one I will see if I can get the blue one made.

Ross and I met back at the car (I succumbed to a Baskin Robbins ice cream cone (waffle to boot)) and Ross said that a bunch of the guys were meeting for dinner at a restaurant in Bucerias, did I want to go. I told him I wouldn’t be hungry but let’s go. We turned off the Centro exit and tried to get to where they told us the restaurant was. Now please understand that this is the high season and most of the roads in Centro are one way, now most Mexicans or tourists don’t read arrows so we had to wait several times in order for cars and or trucks to move because they were going the WRONG WAY! It probably took 3 times longer to get to where we were going than in low season. Oh well, that’s what happens when you live in a destination town. We were told the restaurant was on the beach at the very end of the road in Bucerias, so we drove most of the way and decided to park (cause of the traffic) Ross was backing up into a parking spot when the right back tire went into a hole, I looked and it looked really deep so we drove up a bit then parked. While walking back we saw the hole we went in, it actually was a break in a grate that was probably more than 8 feet long and the hole in the grate was maybe……5 feet or more down! We walked down to the end, couldn’t find it so we got back into the car, drove to the other side of the river, drove down there too, couldn’t find it, we gave up, came home, Ross warmed up turkey for supper, I called the kids, wrote my blog and munched on Pringles (don’t let me loose in a grocery store when I’m hungry (I stopped in at Sunset Market before meeting Ross in the Parking garage and before Baskin Robbins)).

Well, we are watching TV, I’m still typing the blog and we are pooped! I’m going to put the lid on the Pringles, finish the blog, watch a bit more TV then off to bed! After all, it’s laundry day tomorrow, wow!
Ross Kim and Critters in a very tired Paradise!
