Wednesday and Thursday March 3rd & 4th, 2010
Wow! We got up at 6:30am this morning to get onto the boat in Nuevo for our Vallarta Adventure Los Caletas boat trip. I was so pumped. We left the house at 7:30 in order to get there for 8 so we could have our continental breakfast included in the purchase price. There was toast, fruit and baked goods all really good. We got onto the boat at 8:30 and went to the Vallarta pier to pick up more people; the Carnival Splendor was in dock, wow those boats are big, we waved to some of the people that stayed on board. Then off to Los Caletas, the waves were quite high, a little girl was actually sea sick when we got there. I was disappointed that we didn’t cruise a little closer to the shore so we could see Los Arcos a little better, but we did get a great view on the way home.
Once on the beach we grabbed 3 chairs and got settled in. I took off my shorts and top (I was wearing my suit) got a margarita and people watched. I got my book out for a bit but watching the ocean and people was much more exciting! Jan and Ross went snorkeling and I went out on a blowup ring but didn’t last very long, the waves were so big that they kept carrying me out to sea; Ross had to rescue me once! Normally the sea is so calm there that it is like a bathtub, El Nino strikes again!!! Just before lunch Ross got a little too close to the rocks and cut his hand, by the time she was done with Ross it looked like he was in WW2.
We had a delicious lunch then putzed until it was time to go home. The boat ride was a lot better because he went close to the shore so we could see a little more than we did going out. We stopped in again in the Vallarta dock and had to change boats this time… that was a first. We left Vallarta bay on a much smaller boat and got to Nuevo in about 10 minutes.
After a snooze we opened a couple of cans of soup and crackers for supper then watched Independence Day (the movie on blue ray, what a good movie!). By the time we were done we were very tired so we went to bed.
Thursday morning we got to sleep in ………hurray! We did our own things …Jan had his espresso coffee, Ross got his emails and facebook done and I started on my blog (and I’m still working it, it’s 5:30pm). Jan and Ross took off on the bikes to go to the beach for a massage (I stayed home to wait for the UPS guy for Ross’s watch) which was ok because I didn’t want to go anywhere anyway. Ross and Jan went to the beach for their massage then drove the bikes up the river and then took the highway into the mountains. Jan had a bit of a spill but other than that everything went well.
Jan and Ross of off to Nelly’s tonight, I’m going to stay home to watch Bones and go to bed early! Well I guess that’s it for today. We are off to Mismaloya tomorrow to show Jan that part of Mexico and to go to the Tequila factory.
Ross, Jan Kim and Critters in Paradise!
