Saturday & Sunday May 15th & May 16th, 2010
Both Saturday and Sunday were kinda sorta down days. Saturday night Dick and Mary Carmen picked us up at 6:30 and we drove to San Jose to meet up with the dinner crew at California Pizza. Now I have talked about this place before, it is a very small restaurant on the side of the highway where we take the tables and chairs outside and sit in the parking lot. They make the best Fettuccini Alfredo cameron (shrimp) that we have ever tasted! Mary Carmen brought a bottle of red wine (they don’t sell liquor) that she shared with me (I had brought a small bottle), a good time was had by all.
Sunday we were debating whether or not we should go to a movie, while we were watching Corrie Street, when Sue called to let us know that a few people were going to their house around 3 for a pool party and she wanted to know if we wanted to come. Tr55555555555555555-=[(Yoda wanted to tell you something) Since there was nothing good on the movies we went over to Sue and Harold’s. It was cool, Harold is a volunteer firefighter so two of the guys that were there are firefighters along with a wife and daughter. The cool part was the firefighters and family didn’t speak English but we seemed to be able to communicate just fine. We are now invited to their daughter’s 14th birthday party and communion (I think)! We had hotdogs, beans and macaroni salad, with guacamole, salsa and nachos for nibblies.
After we got home we decided to go for a scooter ride, wow did we have fun! We drove all around Bucerias, places we have never been before. Up and down hills, up the river, down on the other side of the valley highway through mango tree groves where there was a volleyball game going on. We drove up the river, under the bridge of the 200 heading to the ocean. We drove along a very short side road right beside the ocean and when we had to turn around I got my back wheel stuck in a grate that ran along the bottom of a driveway that we used to turn around. It was so funny, I started to rock the bike (just like you would when you are stuck in snow) and ended up driving a little farther up the driveway to roll back faster so I wouldn’t get the wheel stuck, it worked. We drove along the main road closest to the ocean and went straight through past the Decameron and drove the dirt road up and around and ended up at the Pemex gas station, we turned right on the 200 and just as we were in the turn lane to Mega Ross’s bike just shut off. He thought he was out of gas, yet the gauge read more than half full, he walked the bike to the Mega parking lot and we were debating what to do. I suggested Ross to try to start it again and after a couple of put puts it started, hurray! We drove home without any more problems and then we just watched a bit of TV then went to bed.
Hope everyone has a good week (we get our bike plates this week)
