Tuesday and Wednesday April 27th & April 28th, 2010

Happy Birthday Cami she is 6 today!

Today we went on the catamaran with Ash and Lisa what fun. We met Captain Bill at noon at the wharf and we took 2 trips out to his boat, on his little zodiac tender, one with the girls and the cooler the last with Ross and me. What a glorious day, we heard the sound of the blow hole of a whale, saw several rays and a turtle (Tortuga). We sailed almost all the way to the Marietta Islands before heading back. Captain Bill stopped the boat so the girls could swim but they ended up being too scared (Ash thought something could come along and eat her) Ross went in for a dip though.

We reached land around 5:30 and we were all sunned out and tired! We dropped off the girls at the resort and drove home.

We called Cami and sang Happy Birthday and Stacy and I had a long chat. It was nice.
Wednesday was Market day! We picked up the girls at 3 and drove to the consulate in Vallarta to drop off our returns and guess what, they don’t offer that service??? We ended up having to drive to Office Depot to buy some large envelopes so Ross can take them to Edmonton to drop them off at the TSO there, how stupid.

We got to the market and went shopping, my feet still hurt (it’s Thursday morning). We actually got some new butterflies for my wall and we got a really cute gecko to put up outside also! We even stopped at a shoe store off the market route (Ash got some really cute sandals) and we also went to Plaza Caracol to do a bit more shoe shopping where Ash found her gladiator sandals at C&A.

We got back home for some wings and a movie. While the wings were cooking the girls took the bikes out for a bit of a run and I finally got my Sony book working again (it acted up and I couldn’t use it) with Sony on the phone.

I cut up a pear and had some cucumber, tomatoes and cheese (I don’t like hot wings) for supper and Ross, Ash and Lisa ate up all the wings, nummy! We watched the movie Twister (I actually went to bed earlier as I had to be at the office at 9 this morning) then Ross drove the girl’s home.

That is about it for now

Saturday to Monday April 24th to 26th, 2010

Saturday Ross drove the girls to the Malecon

Sunday we went to the beach and hung out with the girls at the Decameron.

Today we drove to our pharmacy guy to get Ross some Lipitor but he is no longer there, then the post office to see if Pam’s package came in, hurray, it did (our mail and some software I ordered) then to Oxxo to pay our water bill (265 pesos for 2 months) but found out we can only pay it there as soon as we get the bill so we had to drive to the water company to pay it, not a far drive, nothing is very far in Bucerias. Next was Wal-Mart to pick up the prescription for Ross and stuff for our boat ride tomorrow. We ended up getting a smaller cooler (we had been looking for one) and we got two shelving units, one for our pool stuff and one for my laundry stuff. I was having Juan make one for me but it has been over a month and I still haven’t gotten it yet so I think he forgot. The ones we bought are ok they are plastic and have 5 shelves each, I think I might steal one of the shelves from the pool unit so I can have two shorter shelves and this unit is going underneath my kitchen window. We bought 5 sandwiches and I am bringing some cheese and crackers, tomatoes and a cucumber and some cookies.

After Ross’s meeting he picked up the girls and we went out to Meson Bay, a great restaurant on the beach and Ash ordered a fajita and some breaded shrimp on the side, well, she ended up with two meals, the waiter didn’t understand her shrimp on the side concept! Lisa got coconut shrimp, Ross had all you can eat fish and shrimp and I had my usual…….shrimp stuffed avocado. We all had margaritas, Ash and Lisa had Mango, I had lime and Ross had a strawberry virgin.

After dinner we drove the girls back to the hotel to get prettied up so Ross could pick them up and drive them back to the Malecon for more partying!

That’s it for now

Thursday and Friday April 22nd and 23rd, 2010

Sue woke us up at the crack of 10am this morning letting us know that the los bomberos are ready to fill our pool. The truck came about 20 minutes later with Harold and they emptied the truck in the pool and it was only half full, yack! We started the hose out back and filled it a little bit more (we ran out of water in our tinaco), then another water truck showed up and filled up the pool.

I put my cleaning clothes on turned up Neil Diamond and started cleaning, yucky, (I tried 2 girls that I have used to clean and I couldn’t get a hold of either one) with Ash and Lisa coming Friday I couldn’t procrastinate any longer. I hate cleaning bathrooms along with dusting, vacuuming and all the other stuff. Oh well.
Our friend Tom brought a couple over to take a peek at Betsy, they have a smaller RV but with the grandkids they want a bigger one, they loved her and especially her slides so we will keep our fingers crossed.

Friday dawned cloudy, which was fine with us as the day before, the day I cleaned, it was blistering hot and humid. I was kinda sad for Ash coming today with clouds but there is not much we can do about that. Ross drove to Mega to pick up a spare phone so Ash would be able to communicate with us, came back home, gave me the phone and told me I had to stop in Vallarta at the big Telcel store at the mall so I could register it. Ross packed up the car with his drums and drove to the bar where he was playing then came back so I could take the car to register the phone and then pick up Ash.

I drove like a bat out of hell to the cell phone store (I only had about a half an hour window in which to register the phone and it is always busy before I needed to be at the airport). I was shocked and amazed when I walked right in, and got it handled in 5 minutes. It was so quick I stopped in Liverpool (the department store) to see if I could find a small funnel (I can’t seem to find one anywhere) I didn’t but I did find a small grater.

I drove to the airport and got there just minutes after the plane was to land and I just got out of the car and there was Ash and Lisa! The plane was a bit early and they breezed through customs, wow, I think that was a first ever!

I drove the girls to the resort, dropped them off to shower and went back at 5 to pick them up. We stopped off at the house first before going to the bar to show the girls the house and our new critters Jake and Yoda. We then drove to Ana Banana’s and as soon as we got there Barry (the owner) got on the mike and welcomed them to Mexico.

We had a great time, I had a BLT and the girls got a plate of nachos. The place was packed, we were so excited for Barry and Ana, we think they must have made a bit of money. I drove the girls back to the resort, after of course the band played pretty women, then drove back to La Cruz so Ross could pack up the drums in the car.

That is about it for now; hope everyone had a good week

Monday to Wednesday April 19th to 21st , 2010

Happy Birthday Barbara…89 and holding!

It is Barbara’s birthday today, could you guess? If anyone doesn’t know, she is the one responsible for Ross!!! So don’t look at me!

We met up at Diana Miller’s house with John and Christie in regards to having us list her house; we’ll have to see if she signs with us, we hope so! Ross got a call about another house that was just reduced to 190,000 that we fell in love with when we were looking! It is 3 blocks off the beach and is just gorgeous; I think 2 bedrooms and a real kitchen with cupboards and everything. It has a small pool in the back yard (that is the only yard there is) and a palapa on the third floor that has a couple of hammocks, what luxury!!!

I forgot to mention the last time we went into Vallarta we finally stopped and went into…………..wait…………..wait………….Woolworth, I took a picture!

Happy Birthday Mike!

Tuesday was Mikey’s birthday (a good friend of ours down here, he is from Calgary and he is 44 today), we were invited to go down to Britannia’s for the open jam and to wish him a Happy Birthday, so on the way to La Cruz (where the pub is) we stopped off at Beto’s mini super to get him a small bottle of tequila, however we just read the first name on the bottle and found out it was brandy, Don something or other.
Ross manned the office this morning; I again didn’t sleep well so he let me sleep in, what’s not to love. I got up and by 10 I was ready to go, Ross told me not to worry about coming in today so I hopped onto Baby and went to the bank so they could unlock me (I had a seniors moment and locked up the online account by putting in the wrong password too many times and couldn’t get it to work) I spoke with Laura, another gringo helper, we got it fixed no problem. I was trying to put in the info as we had it before and I needed to put in new info, I know now how to fix it if/when I screw up again.

I then drove to the office to see how Ross was doing, then off to the post office to see if my package of mail Pam sent me was in yet. It wasn’t but I did get Ross’s and my birthday cards from Barbara and a Christmas card from Marilyn Ross’s sister (it came in the same package) with some pictures of our last day in Edmonton at Pam’s house, they were wonderful, I will have to scan them in, then post them for everyone to see.

We left for the pub in La Cruz at 7:30ish, Ross played for a bit and we were at home in time for NCIS. We heard that Mike got so drunk they even screwed up playing Mustang Sally (that is a song you can never go wrong, but Mike did)
Wednesday we decided to drive to PV to pick up Ross’s ring from the market (it looks great) and I bought a sundress for 100 pesos and a top (I am wearing it now) for 190 pesos, I might have to go back and get a few more, it is so comfy! It is one size fits all, draw string ties on the shoulders and some fancy work on the collar. I will have to take a picture. We stopped at Costco and our Canadian cards had expired so we got two Mexican Costco cards (slowly but surely we are cutting ties), Ross wanted a hotdog and they were OUT! The world has come to an end Yike; he had some of my chicken stuff. We stopped off at Wal-Mart to get a few odds and ends, including some non-clumping cat litter that we are told is better to collect moisture (the RV and house) than the moisture beads they sell you. All I need to do is make sure when I put it around in containers in the house that the cats don’t use it!!!

There were only two cruise ships in the harbor today, Oosterdam and Carnival Splendor, we don’t know what happened to the other one that normally is in too.
Ross went to his meeting and I am sitting at the office, it is a beautiful night but alas not many people walking. I did meet however a guy from Calgary that now lives in La Cruz that is putting together big concert events down here in the Marina. He has been meeting up with all the right people and wants to talk with Ralph about the Blues Festival he wants to do next year. Everything for a reason!

Well I’ll say adios for now. I have added a picture of us on the beach, again! Yoda sleeping and Woolworths!

Friday to Sunday April 16th to 18th, 2010

Ed came to pick up the car this morning around 9, the motor for the top fell off on the right hand side, go figure that one, I guess it might have to do with our rough roads. We found out later the motor is just fine, the banging was our strut.
The Ciel water truck is supposed to be here today to drop off our water for the water cooler. We have decided to have it delivered as they are really heavy and we don’t want Ross to throw out his back, our Friends Dick and Mary Carmen have set it up for us (it is easier for Mary Carmen to ask them to come because of her Spanish).
Ross has been asked to play at Britannia’s 6th anniversary party, another band starts at 8 and Ross with Mike and Nick would start at 10, that is awful late.

Friday - Well we left at 7:30 and then band didn’t start until 8:45 maybe…… they were good, haven’t heard them before, they played soft rock for a bit then ended in hard metal. I love the song Sweet child o mine (by Guns and Roses) which they played and I really enjoyed, Ross not so much, oh well no accounting for taste. Ross took me home shortly before they started playing cause I need to get up early for our 9am Mega stint for PEACE, and I need my beauty sleep (if you believe that I have a bridge I can sell you…….)

Saturday - we went to Larry’s inaugural pool party, he added another room on the floor on top of his living room, which has bed and bathroom, then on top of that room he had an infinity pool built! Wow, does it look nice, you can see the whole bay from the pool. (This is what we are thinking of doing, except for a pool on top we will just build a palapa ) They have a built in BBQ and fridge.

Sunday - we drove to Vallarta to see Ross’s “ring” guy at the market, because the stone fell out of the second ring he bought, the first remember he lost in the ocean, (never to be seen again, at least by us anyway!) and he either wanted another ring or have it fixed. Ring guy was open and he took the ring and it will be fixed on Wednesday, (actually better than we figured since they are not guaranteed)! We went out to dinner to Eddie’s Nopal Beach restaurant with the dinner group tonight so that was fun. Renee was there (we haven’t seen her for a few months as she went back home for a while) with Roxanne, then the regulars /sue, Harold, Dick and Mary Carmen. I had the chicken shish kabob with rice and a really good cucumber salad.
That’s it for now, I think………….

So I hope everyone had a great weekend and we’ll talk to you soon.

Wednesday & Thursday April 14th & 15th 2010

Wednesday was a down day; we sure haven’t had many of those in the past few months so it’s nice. Ross went to the office for a shift to see if the street is busier at night than the day………………..not! Almost everyone has gone home.

Thursday we woke up to …………………… of course………………another nice day. I went for a walk with the dogs and made a point of stopping in at my friend Diana’s house cause she asked me if I wanted to go with here to learn beading. I noticed a for sale sign on her house (she has been debating whether or not to sell for a while now) and asked her if she really was going to sell, she said she hadn’t talked with any realtors yet so I just stepped up and we now have an appointment with her (John and I) on Monday at 1pm to maybe list her house. I’m excited; we might have our very first listing!

Ross is having a hell of a time trying to get his taxes done. We are using Ufile over the internet and it keeps putting money on my side of the form where it shouldn’t be, we have no idea what is going on, we finally fixed that but now the basic personal amount is wrong on both of our columns, now what do we do, that number is hardwired into the program, we can’t change it. It shows we owe money and we really shouldn’t. We are still working on that!
I started working on one of my cross stitch projects that I started over a year ago, it’s about time heh, I will put a picture of it on my blog when I’m done, it’s kinda cute.

We left around 7:30 to go to the office; we are in charge of lighting the bonfire for the party. (I wish you could hear what I hear right now, a guy is driving in a truck with mega phones talking very loudly in Spanish. We have no idea what he is saying, but it sure is annoying) we got to the office and wow the street was packed with cars, but hardly any people, go figure that one out. Every Thursday there is an art walk where all the artisans on that street (there are many) open their doors and hope people will come in to buy something. John and Christie had birthday cake put out with some other treats and wine, the table was on the street with a couch for people to sit and chat, quite cozy actually. We finally left them to drive to the beach to set everything up. The kids had the wood down on the beach and they had reserved a room in one of the hotels that opens onto the beach right by the wood pile, we got a small amount of wood in a pile but needed the chainsaw to cut up the rest. This would have been easy if the chainsaw cord didn’t screw up. The cord came out but didn’t go back in again, so John ended up having to take it apart to fix it, rats, we wanted to have everything ready before they came, oh well, the best laid plans and all!

The fire was glorious once started and the people started coming, Christie was kinda concerned as she found out that one lady in one of the shops was telling everyone she met about the fire and Christie was wondering if she had enough munchies. Everything was good though, there must have been about 20 or so people around the fire, chatting and having a good time. I put my toes in the ocean; it was on the chilly side, not half as warm as Guayabitos.

We left around 11 to come home; Ross took the dogs out for a walk then we watched Corrie Street then went to bed.

Monday and Tuesday April 12th & 13th 2010

OK, Today is now Wednesday, what the hell did we do Monday. Awwwwwwww I remember it now, we didn’t do much that is why it didn’t register on the o-boy memory banks. We drove to the post office to see where our mail is, we haven’t had it delivered for a while, and we got a stack full, I even got my birthday card (my birthday was March 26th) from my sister Joan, thanks, it is so cute. Ross got another T4A from rev can, now I think he can get his taxes done. I reminded him now and he said he needs to call them for more info I just want to get it done!

We got our Telmex bill (phone and internet, a whopping 389 pesos for a month (about 35 dollars)) in the mail so we paid that, then drove to Beto’s for some more wine (it’s really cheap there), then went to the bank to talk with Ana as I have locked myself out of the online banking website and of course the instructions are in Spanish, go figure, but the bank was closed so we went home. Ross took off to his meeting and after he got back we just sat back and putzed.

Tuesday was another story. I got my nails done at 10am then we drove to Guayabitos for an end of the season party that Nelly (Crazy Nelly) put on for her staff and customers and a birthday party for her two puppies. What a great day, the sun was shining, the ocean was perfect and the food…………..more than enough for an army. We had BBQ chicken and beef with a fruit salads, mango salad, fixings for tacos, guacamole etc, etc, etc. She also supplied all the beer, tequila and some hard liquor, well after all, she owns a pub!

Ross and Geno went swimming, Ralph helped out with the cooking and the most fun thing was, she told her cook and one bar staff that the party was a dress up like Nelly party. They got there with balloons and miniskirts, long blonde wigs, purses and even a puppy (she has 2) and one even got his nails done. They were embarrassed at first but it was her turn to play the practical joke so they took it in stride. This is an ongoing thing with them, too funny.

We left around 6 to go home and veg, it is always a long day in the sun and wind. We watched some NCIS and a couple of episodes of Corrie Street then actually got to bed at a decent hour.

Saturday and Sunday April 10th & 11th 2010

Bye Yvonne! Come back soon

We just dropped off Yvonne at her hotel in PV because she has an 8am flight tomorrow. We woke up fairly early but didn’t leave for PV until after 3. Since we didn’t leave eary I got the sheets changed on the bed and got some laundry done.
We got to The Comfort Inn by the airport and got Yvonne’s luggage up to the room then drove to Plaza Caracol to pick up the phone batteries and Yvonne and I went I think, into every store in the mall, that’s a lot of stores!

We drove to the Malecon and went to find a place to eat first. After looking at several we decided on one that overlooked the ocean (we wanted to catch the sunset (which we forgot we are now on daylight saving so we missed it having dinner but got some pictures while we were walking)). We must have been sitting for at least 15 minutes and still no one even looked at us let alone took our drink order so we walked out. We walked about ½ a block and found a great restaurant that was up a flight of stairs so we had a better view of the ocean and the food was amazing. Ross had a burger, Yvonne had the biggest coconut shrimp I have ever seen and I had a marvelous fajita, Yvonne and I also had a glass of wine.

We walked the Malecon and saw all the sights then drove Yvonne back to her hotel. We hugged and wished her a good flight for tomorrow then we drove home. We really didn’t do much else just watched a bit of TV, and then went to bed.
I woke up Sunday morning finding out that I have the same malady that Ross has been suffering with for the last 5 days. Today is very much a down day, Ross tried to do his taxes and realized we are missing some info so we have to call tomorrow to see where it is.

Ross talked with Ashleigh and we found out that Even was released today, they are going to stay in a hotel tonight. I would have thought they would have transferred him out of ICU to a room for him to heal. I guess with all the budget cuts this is what they do now, I don’t think it is a good thing.

Ross has gone to Ana Banana’s to see Ralph and pick up the drum sticks that he brought back for him. I think once Ross gets home we will watch Corrie Street then I think we’ll have an early night. We sure are exciting aren’t we!

Friday April 9th 2010

Another beautiful day in Paradise……………………,oh I’m sorry I don’t mean to say it every day, but darn it’s great!

We woke up a bit early today; I made myself a cup of tea and read my book until Yvonne got up, then we had coffee and I had some cheese and crackers for breakfast. Ross got up after us and we laid low for a bit, Yvonne did her ½ hour tanning on the Bucerias weather station then when we were ready we drove to El Gordo for lunch (Yvonne is going to go into withdrawals when she goes home) then to Wal-Mart to see if we could find another battery for our phones, they are getting old and don’t hold much of a charge anymore. Yvonne picked up two bottles of tequila to take home for gifts then we decided to go for a drive, we drove up the river bed, and then drove down the 2 lane highway behind our house, it is a beautiful drive.

We got home shortly before 5:30 and at 5:30 we drove to Nuevo so Ross could go to his meeting, Yvonne and I shopped at Paradise Mall until 7, then after we drove Henry home (one of Ross’s friends from AA that needed a ride home, his wife had the car) we drove a bit around Nuevo to show Yvonne what the houses are like there.
We got home and Yvonne made scrambled eggs with onion and ham and we had them on flour tortillas with tomato, cucumber and cheese. Yum.

We are now watching Yoda play with a cockroach (the 2nd we’ve seen in over a week), Yvonne and I are on the computer and Ross is watching TV. We have to take Yvonne to PV tomorrow as she is staying the night there cause her plane leaves at 8am. We are going to do the Malecon and have something fishy for supper.

I’m gonna post this now then look at my email then I think I’m gonna hit the hay.

Yvonne, Ross Kim and Critters in Paradise.
Thursday April 8th 2010

We got up early today so we could meet Mandy and Mike at Mandy’s pub in La Cruz as we have planned a day of sun and catamaran sailing. We got to the pier and had a Panga (small boat) take us out to the catamaran, this is our first time on one that has sails. We all got on and we took off North up to the Marietta’s (2 small islands that have great snorkeling) at about 6-7 knots an hour, wow, we were flying! It was so much fun!!!

Yvonne made some guacamole and I packed some cheese, cucumber, tomatoes, crackers etc to nibble on. A great time was had by all. We didn’t quite get to where we were going before we needed to turn back so Bill, our captain, slowed the boat right down and Mike and Yvonne took a dip. It took us longer to get back as the wind died down, Ross and I napped on the netting at the front of the boat, while everyone else quietly enjoyed the views. Once back in La Cruz Bill used his dingy to take Sherry (another customer) and Mike back to the pier so Mike could get the same guys to come out to bring us in with our coolers and stuff and when they finally got back, Bill told us the only panga that was available was a boat owned by Jesus and he wanted 200 pesos, well what do you do, we needed to get back so we paid him his money reluctantly.

Once home we all showered and didn’t do a hell of a lot of anything, the sun and the wind sucked the oomph right out of us! I had stubbed my toe before we left and half my polish came off of one of my big toes (it was so sad, it was my green birthday toes) so I took off the polish and now I have white toes. Ross made some homemade French fries and after that some popcorn, we sat and watched TV then popped off to bed so we can be refreshed for the next day!

Tuesday and Wednesday April 6th & 7th 2010

Yvonne and I got to the office shortly after 9, we were waiting on Ross (tummy upset) and decided he needed to stay home and we would drive to the office. A punch buggy was parked outside of the office, John and Christie spent money for the curb to be painted so no one could park there, which I find out later it is for sale for 59,000 pesos. A client bought a house and the car came with it. The TV finally showed up also, with listings scrolling on it so that was new too! Yvonne sat and read the real estate listings, I tried to get the internet to work, but no, but I kinda expected that anyway. The foot traffic outside the office has died down to almost nothing now, so it is very boring sitting there, but the punch buggy roadster really stopped traffic. Ross called to let me know the RV guy from Red Deer was at the house to take pictures and then he came by the office to drop off some stuff I had forgotten to bring (maps and calendars with our business card on it). Yvonne took off for a walk then had a cappuccino at the bakery across the street!

Before we got home we stopped off at El Gordo for a lunch. We went to Philo’s for ribs and to see Tom’s band one more time (we never did order the ribs, but supper was not up to par) then after a set we left and drove to Britannia to do a bit of jamming with them. There was a violin player that touched your soul, it was sublime, indescribable. Nick on guitar, Mike on bass, Russ on harmonica and we have no idea who played the violin, and of course Ross on drums.

We didn’t stay long at Britannia either, we got home about 11:30 and we had to wait up until Tom came by to drop off the drums they borrowed from us (it was around 1).
Wednesday is the day we go to the market and Mismaloya. We stopped off at the post office to mail Cami’s birthday card then to the Pharmacia to get some pepto bismol for Ross’s tummy, then went to Pepe’s tacos in Vallarta for lunch. Delicious!!! We drove to the market and Ross paid for another car wash (the last one he paid for, the guy never did wash his car) and we went shopping. Yvonne bought 3 pairs of earrings and I bought a top in anticipation (we are actually getting the weather now) for the summer heat. We had a great drive to Mismaloya, we saw the huge houses on the mountain then drove farther south down the 200 what a wonderful drive, we actually saw some spruce trees too, other than the Norfolk pines we see all over the place (30 feet high some of them!)

Once home Yvonne asked us if there was any restaurant we haven’t gone to yet that we wanted to…..we picked Karen’s Place. Well let me tell you the food was fabulous, yes Ross, fabulous! Karen’s Place is a restaurant right on the beach road in the hotel called Costa Dorado (gold coast) and the ambience was delightful. A five star restaurant with three star pricing, according to Yvonne. Ross had the Mahi Mahi (the best he has ever had but the sauce at Riveria was better, Yvonne had the chicken, which according to her again was divine, a bit too much ricotta cheese, but the spinach was herbed perfectly to match the chicken (oh my god)!!! You get the drift. I had a vegetarian spaghetti with tomatoes, fresh basil, parmesan cheese and black olives, fantastico.

We are now sitting stuffed watching demolition derby, only because we are too stuffed and too tired to change the channel.

Saturday, Sunday & Monday April 3rd, 4th & 5th 2010

¡Felices Pascuas

We woke up in Paradise as per usual; Yvonne spent some time on the roof in the morning to do a bit of tanning, we have to have some suntan when we get back!
Yvonne and I took a trip to Bucerias Centro to the market, sooooooooo busy, I bought a very light dress for rainy season and Yvonne bought some earrings, we didn’t stay long as we were dripping with sweat! The beach was packed with nationals, a good day to stay away from the beach. We bumped into the waiter that was going to take Yvonne dancing that night at The Twisted Rose and he looked like he was on the wrong end of a fist. He had a bandage on his right eyebrow and I’m sure a really good shiner, he was wearing sunglasses.

We drove home and met up with Dick and Mary Carmen at Ernesto’s (a really good restaurant in Jarretaderas) for a wonder dinner. On the way into the barrio there was a big pile of rocks and dirt obstructing our drive to the restaurant. Ross made his way through it (with a lot of damage to his car) and found out they put it there to stop people driving on the brand new pavement they poured. We turned around drove through the narrow opening and parked on the side of the street and walked in.
We woke up Easter Sunday morning and were enjoying some down time and we got a call we just got a call from Ashleigh letting us know that Evan has been electrocuted in his home this morning, we think around 5am and he was airlifted to the U of A and is in ICU right now unconscious. (It’s 2:30 pm right now)

We went to El Gordo for lunch then left Ross by the phone and Yvonne and I drove to Puente de Mita, a small coastal town just a little drive. I parked for a bit so we could walk to stretch our legs.

We got home after 4 and we watched Corrie Street and had spaghetti and garlic toast for supper, with real parmesan cheese from the deli.

Happy Birthday to Ross

We woke up to good news, Evan was off the respirator and awake. I’m sure he has a long way to go, but at least the recovery has started.
I did the same thing to Ross in regards to birthday presents; he got cheese whiz, peaches, chocolate cookies, and some Bubu Lubu, (chocolate, marshmallow and jam treat) and some hot rods.

We drove to the surfer town of Sayulita for a lunch of great totopos (Nacho chips) and guacamole, Yvonne had an enchilada and I had a burrito chico (small burrito) and we noshed on Ross’s guacamole also. We walked down to the ocean, I put my feet in………………..it’s cold!!!!!!!! We stopped in a couple of shops but didn’t find anything that jumped out at us.

We got home just in time………………I forgot a very important event today. Bad me!!! Yvonne and I hooked up my little pink LG computer to my small TV in my office and I can use it as a desktop computer. Hurray…it was like seeing a child I hadn’t seen for a very long time!

Sorry about that, we got home, I watered the plants in front and cleaned my feet (the sand and salt from Sayulita) and we got Betsy filled up with water (she was out) and Ross watered the back plants. Yvonne had a short snooze; we left shortly before 7 to meet up with Dick, Mary Carmen and Harold for dinner at the Sirloin Stockade in The Galleria Mall. Harold won………………….Ross had eaten too many totopos!

We are now watching TV and doing a bit of surfing (computer that is) and it will be bedtime soon as we have to work tomorrow. Yvonne is coming with us to putz around.

Sunday April 4th, 2010

We just got a call from Ashleigh (Ross's daughter) letting us know that Evan (Tara's fiancé (Ross's other daughter)) has been electrocuted in their home this morning, we think around 5am and he was airlifted to the U of A and is in ICU right now unconscious. (It’s 2:30 pm right now) This is all we know for now so please pray for him.

I won't be posting a blog today.

Thursday and Friday April 1st & 2nd, 2010

It was so good to see Yvonne again; we picked her up from the airport at 4 and brought her home. She hasn’t been to Mexico since 1986 and she went to Mazatlan then, so this is a new experience for her. Before we went home we stopped at El Gordo’s for some Taco’s, Yum!

We drove to Nelly’s and on the way we got a phone call from Geno (Juan-Ted)………..where is the PA??? Yvonne was the one that decided “APRIL FOOLS” silly us. Nelly’s was really, really slow, there were Yvonne, Mandy (Mike’s significant other (he played bass while Ralph is in California)) and myself with 2 other ladies and 2 couples. Oh well, we knew it was going to be slow!!!

We got up Friday and had a very nice morning, we had coffee, did some internet stuff. Mike and Mandy came by to drop off the PA, they caught me putting our new shelf beside our other 2 and of course when you change things around you have to clean!!! Since I had to move the other two shelves I took everything off the tops of them and needed to clean them too! (A globe, 70’s orange bowl Ross insists on keeping, some pictures, etc…etc…) I emptied our old CD rack (the one we brought from Edmonton that I hated) onto the new shelf too, hurray! While we were waiting, for Tom, we went back to El Gordo for more food, yum, Tom and his friend came to pick up a set of drums Ross is loaning them for a week or so, we went to see them at Ana Banana’s tonight, and they were soooooooooooooo great! Old rock, they played together for a number of years together.

After Ana’s we drove to Philo’s but nothing was happening so we drove to The Twisted Rose to have supper (they have great burgers) and for Yvonne to dance. No one was there (again, it’s good Friday!) so we walked to the square to see what was going on. We left Ross listening to the music and we went to check out the square. We ended up at a restaurant that is on the beach and I think Yvonne has a date to dance tomorrow night at The Twisted Rose. We met back up with Ross and walked back to the car and drove home.

Yvonne has gone to bed and I am going to follow as soon as I’m done. I have uploaded some pictures, I hope they took, Gaye-Lynne I will add them to the email.
