Wednesday & Thursday April 14th & 15th 2010
Wednesday was a down day; we sure haven’t had many of those in the past few months so it’s nice. Ross went to the office for a shift to see if the street is busier at night than the day………………..not! Almost everyone has gone home.
Thursday we woke up to …………………… of course………………another nice day. I went for a walk with the dogs and made a point of stopping in at my friend Diana’s house cause she asked me if I wanted to go with here to learn beading. I noticed a for sale sign on her house (she has been debating whether or not to sell for a while now) and asked her if she really was going to sell, she said she hadn’t talked with any realtors yet so I just stepped up and we now have an appointment with her (John and I) on Monday at 1pm to maybe list her house. I’m excited; we might have our very first listing!
Ross is having a hell of a time trying to get his taxes done. We are using Ufile over the internet and it keeps putting money on my side of the form where it shouldn’t be, we have no idea what is going on, we finally fixed that but now the basic personal amount is wrong on both of our columns, now what do we do, that number is hardwired into the program, we can’t change it. It shows we owe money and we really shouldn’t. We are still working on that!
I started working on one of my cross stitch projects that I started over a year ago, it’s about time heh, I will put a picture of it on my blog when I’m done, it’s kinda cute.
We left around 7:30 to go to the office; we are in charge of lighting the bonfire for the party. (I wish you could hear what I hear right now, a guy is driving in a truck with mega phones talking very loudly in Spanish. We have no idea what he is saying, but it sure is annoying) we got to the office and wow the street was packed with cars, but hardly any people, go figure that one out. Every Thursday there is an art walk where all the artisans on that street (there are many) open their doors and hope people will come in to buy something. John and Christie had birthday cake put out with some other treats and wine, the table was on the street with a couch for people to sit and chat, quite cozy actually. We finally left them to drive to the beach to set everything up. The kids had the wood down on the beach and they had reserved a room in one of the hotels that opens onto the beach right by the wood pile, we got a small amount of wood in a pile but needed the chainsaw to cut up the rest. This would have been easy if the chainsaw cord didn’t screw up. The cord came out but didn’t go back in again, so John ended up having to take it apart to fix it, rats, we wanted to have everything ready before they came, oh well, the best laid plans and all!
The fire was glorious once started and the people started coming, Christie was kinda concerned as she found out that one lady in one of the shops was telling everyone she met about the fire and Christie was wondering if she had enough munchies. Everything was good though, there must have been about 20 or so people around the fire, chatting and having a good time. I put my toes in the ocean; it was on the chilly side, not half as warm as Guayabitos.
We left around 11 to come home; Ross took the dogs out for a walk then we watched Corrie Street then went to bed.
