Wednesday December 2nd, 2009

We had to be out of the house by 11:30 cause my nail appointment was for noon, so I set my alarm for 10:00 but with the dogs being dogs they needed some lovin’ so I ended up waking up around 8:30 and got up at 9. I started doing accounting stuff (not work, just the house accounting) and it ended up being 10:45 before I started getting ready, so needless to say I was hobbling around fast (remember I tore the ligaments on my right foot so I don’t walk well) and we got to Brett’s hotel at 11:31, pretty good heh!

Ross wanted to show him a bit of the river so we drove up it a bit before I dropped them off at Centro Bucerias so I could get to my appointment. Gina didn’t do my nails today, she was not working at that location today but Terry did my nails and she did a great job. Gina does the French manicure and Terry just does the fills. It cost me 180 pesos ($15) for the service. It’s funny she was telling me that that in 3 weeks (I get my nails done every 3 weeks) it will be “Merry Christmas” so please make sure that you make an appointment. I actually made an appointment for the 22nd and also bought pedicures for both Ross and me for Christmas!

As I was leaving the nail place I tried to call Ross to find out where he was and his phone went right to voicemail. Rats, I would have to try to find them in Centro but when I left the shop here I see Ross and Brett walking toward me! Yeah! We went to Meson Bay for lunch, what a great place, if you are ever in Bucerias you really need to check it out, great food and terrific service! I had avocado with shrimp (an appetizer for 110 pesos but enough to fill me up and a bit for Ross), Ross got grilled fish (the fish was a whole fish with the head and everything Yucky) and Brett got a combination dish with his new favorite soup, Tortilla soup, for an appetizer.

We drove to Wal-Mart for me to see if I could get my inhaler without a prescription! You will not believe this, my inhaler ($40 cdn) was 46 pesos ($4) without a prescription! It’s exactly the same stuff, I tripled checked it to make sure! Brett bought a shirt (which I found out later was because it was cool at night and he didn’t have anything else to wear, all his stuff was back at the hotel) and Ross bought some dog food (we are going through a lot).

We drove home to drop off the dog food and then drove to Britannia for Deep River to play from 4:30 – 7:30. Well, I’ll tell you…………………..no people in the bar. There was a sailboat race from Vallarta to La Cruz and Philo was doing something at his bar with the boaters for a charity, so all the people were either at the marina or at Philo’s, rats! After a great meal of, what else, fish and chips (Brett said it’s a sad when you have to come to Puerto Vallarta to get good fish and chips) we drove Brett home and we got home to watch the last part of Criminal Minds and now we are watching Corrie Street from last Sunday. I put a couple of hoodies and a throw in a back pack in the trunk of the car, just in case I got cold sometime, and I put one on when we were in Britannia and now I am sitting at the kitchen table with slippers on and my “Edmonton” bathrobe, it’s chilly outside! My computer says it’s 10 here and -12 in Edmonton, sorry, I guess I shouldn’t complain about the cold, but guess what! I am!

I am now ready for bed, I need to call the plumber and our propane guy tomorrow, plumber for hot water and get my stove fixed and propane guy, cause we ran out of propane, I have had to put my towels outside to dry cause, guess what, it runs on propane. We also want to drive Brett to the airport tomorrow and we are picking up Ed at Ana Banana at 7 tomorrow night to take him to Guayabitos, he has lived here for 2 years and has not traveled north of La Cruz. It’s like the farmer from Saskatchewan that has not left his town, ever!

Ross, Kim and Brett (one more day) in Paradise
