Friday September 25, 2009

Hola to all! What a wonderful place to live. We got up shortly before 11 (Lynn actually slept in until 9:30! We had a leisurely coffee then Ross, (he he he) had to go into Mexcales (the next town to us past Nuevo) to pay his speeding ticket and get his license plate back. The ticket was for 480 pesos (48.00 big ones) but because he paid quickly they reduced it to 240 pesos (I think, Ross is in the pool and I’m quite settled on my chair to get up and ask him, I also have a margarita at my elbow and it will melt). Lynn made a delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs, peppers, onion salt, salsa and cheese and I don’t know what else but it was very good.

Today was the day that we drove to a lovely little town north of us called Rincon De Guayabitos. It is a lovely little town about 40 minutes away and it is a quaint little fishing village/vacation spot that is in own little bay with a couple of small islands in the bay. We stopped and did some shopping (I bought some dresses for Cami and Jordan (my granddaughters I am going to see in October), a cool shirt (don’t tell him) for Stacy my son and all I have to do now is find something for little Melanie and Jessie. I don’t know what to get Jessie as she is from Costa Rica, so everything we have here, she has lived with all her life. The weather was perfect, blue sky and fluffy clouds, the drive through the Sierra Madre mountains is unexplainable, the road is only two lane, the trees form a canopy over the highway, there are a lot of small towns along the way.

We stopped at a fabulous restaurant on the mountain and the view was to die for. You could see the entire bay, the sand is white and the water is the colour of the Caribbean ocean! I have taken pictures but my battery ran out on my camera, so I am charging that now as we speak, so tomorrow I might post a blog with just pictures. We drove back part of the way and then turned off to go to Sayulita, another village except this time it is a funky, groovy surf town. We got out and walked around a bit, a guy pulled me over and wanted me to buy something, I found a little turtle made out of onyx and I asked him how much (quanto) he said 350 pesos, I looked at him and said ya right, I live here! I walked away and he asked me how much I would pay, I looked at it, it’s really cute, and I said maybe 50 pesos, he said what, 200, I said 50, he said 150 I started walking away and he gave it to me for 50 pesos, it went from 35.00 to 5.00. Go figure! After Sayulita we continued down the coast to La Cruz then back to Bucerias. What a wonderful day!

We got home at about 5:10 and we needed to leave at 5:30 for Ross’s meeting at Paradise Village. We went because Lynn hasn’t seen Paradise Village yet (it is a very large time share and condo project in Nuevo Vallarta that is very expensive with a dock full of very expensive yachts, sailboats and powerboats) and we were going to go to go to Jennifer’s restaurant “Rivera” for dinner after the meeting. Lynn and I walked to the dock (you can’t go very far) then walked back to the mall that has a grocery market and a shop on the second floor I needed to go to, to get another yellow coaster for my kitchen that seems to have gotten lost. We walked around a bit at the market, I found some yellow rubber duckies for our pool, and I’m so excited they squeak and everything. When Ross got out of his meeting we were told that at the end of every month we do a dinner at, you guessed it, Paradise Village (one of the people that own in the complex goes to the meetings). We had 3 birthdays and everyone (but of course us) brought something. Ross hadn’t been to a meeting lately as we have had Lynn and Trina with us) so we didn’t know. We had hot dogs and burritos with all the stuffing it was great and we had a birthday cake and ice cream after dinner. Ross swam a bit, (we took our suits out of the car when we came back before going to the meeting), because of being in the sun most of the day we were so beat we ate and then left. When we got home, because it is now the tradition, we made margaritas, watched a little TV, I did my blog, and we are going to bed at 11:10, Criminal Minds is on.

So goodnite (buenas noches)
Ross, Kim and Lynn in Paradise
