Yahoo! 5 days until Christmas and I have candy canes to suck on hurray!
I was chastised when Ross read the blog; I forgot to finish the saga of the lost wallet!!! How dare I. Here goes: We got home from dinner to find his wallet was not on the floor, yack!!! Now what do we do??? Ross got on the phone with Mike cause he played at Britannia the night before and was hoping they found his wallet, but no such luck so back on the phone to cancel his credit cards and debit cards. We were thinking if he lost his wallet in La Cruz they might have taken the cash then tossed the wallet, so we took a drive and looked everywhere for it………….nowhere to be seen! Being a little (I exaggerate) upset he blasted onto the highway to check the office and guess who was behind him……..yup……..a transito. Good thing (I guess) the guy spoke English and we tried to explain to him that Ross was driving without his license because his wallet was stolen and was driving fast cause he was upset. After him telling us we would need to park the car if he took our license plate away (we have driven for days without one and no one noticed) and would have to walk home until we paid the fine, but in the end we paid him a bribe of 320 pesos to let us go………………I drove then, we went to the office and his wallet wasn’t there so back home we went. You will never guess what happened then…………………………………………………………we just got out of our car and our next door neighbor came over with Ross’s wallet letting us know it was found in PV and brought to him as we were not home. Nothing in the wallet was taken, not even the money, we love it here! There that is the saga of the missing wallet. As a side note we phoned the credit card companies back to see if they would un-cancel them but alas no, so we are waiting for new ones to be send and Pam will FedEx them to us when she gets them.
So back to the present, I can’t remember if we finally got our new old trailer today or Friday so I will shoot in the dark and say today. Ross put our jack in the truck to take the flat tire off the trailer and we drove off to John and Christies house. Mackenzie opened the gate and we got the trailer out, but Ross had a hard time getting the jack to lift up the trailer as the jack was not co-operating!!! Now I have to let you know about a comment Mackenzie said when she was watching Ross with the jack, she asked, “is everything you have pink???” The jack has been outside since we got here and the red faded to pink………..how cute! We got the tire off and took it to the tire shop; I think for 150 pesos we got a new valve stem and a patch. We got the tire back on the trailer and now it is sitting in our back yard………..still empty, yack, I want to move my room and I can’t until all Ross’s stuff is out, patience is what I need. Sue called asking if we want to go to Ernesto’s for supper, of course we said yes and we had a great dinner, Ross had a hamburger and I had the BLT!
Thursday was a very busy day for both of us; it was my sorority La Penita market trip and Ross had a gig that night. I got up early (7:30am) and drove to the Oxxo at the Decameron gate to pick up Sue at 8:40 and I picked up another sister, Bonnie, at the Oxxo by Mega at 8:45, we then drove to the last Oxxo I Bucerias to meet up with the rest of the sisters that were driving. We ended up going in Sandy’s van as she was all by herself and can’t ride in a car without driving, car sick, yuck! We got to La Penita (about a 40 minute drive north of Bucerias) shortly after 10 and ended up having a big of breakfast before starting to shop. I ordered coffee with toast and jam, now they don‘t butter toast here and they ended up having to go to a store to pick up some jam for me; I hope they use it up with some other gringo breakfast! After breakfast we walked up and down the aisles looking at all the stuff they were selling, Christmas stuff, makeup, clothing, plastic wares, cd’s, some DVD’s …………etc. We then went into the square and here the artisans were, handmade jewelry, bowls, purses (I bought one), there were also plants, I bought a cactus, a poinsettia and a little tree with Christmas decorations on it. We left the market at about 12:30 and drove back to Guayabitos to the Vista Guayabitos restaurant, way up high on a hill, great view, and great food. I had a French onion soup (it was chilly out) and 2 glasses of wine, it’s funny when I got my soup I asked where the bread and cheese was, he said on the bottom of course, silly me.
I got home around 4, once Cecilla was done cleaning we jumped into the truck with the dogs and drove to the beach by John and Christie’s house. He was doing a Feliz Navidog Christmas news letter, on the beach was a small decorated Christmas tree, we had Jake on one side and Gracie on the other with John clicking away on his camera, he must have got at least 50 shots, one should be ok. We weren’t paying any attention to Jake……………..he pee’d on the tree…..oops!
Ross left around 6:30 to drive to San Pancho for a gig, I stayed home for another hour and left to sell t-shirts for the sorority on the street by the beach while the art walk was going on, what a blast, we sold 4 t-shirts and said hi to many friends walking by. I got home around 9:30 or so, I think Ross got in around one, we were both very tired!
I went with Ross to his meeting in Paradise Village on Friday as the lady that brought gauze down for us was to meet me at Starbucks. Lisa was there, we chatted the hour away, the gauze lady never did show up?!?!?
And of course Saturday we were up bright and early for the animal adoption/food drive at Mega. Today was a little different; the Segway guy was there from Vallarta and for a toy for the kids in La Cruz, we got to ride on one of them! What fun, we had to wear a helmet (I guess that was good for me!!!) and they are so easy to maneuver, I want one for Christmas!
I went out to dinner with the dinner club to Flaky’s at 7; Ross went to play at Britannia, (that sounds like he is a little boy going out to play with his friends) and Roxana and I drove over there after dinner, unfortunately we caught their last song, the guitar player had to go to PV for another gig. We sat for a bit chatting to friends and we finished our drinks before we got up to go, a nice evening was had by all!
On Sunday Derek, my son-in-law turned 41. Happy Birthday to Derek!
I can’t remember if I told you this or not but last week I got a craving for a candy cane. I started shopping around for them, thinking “no problem”, well it sure was………….I couldn’t find them anywhere……………until Dick told me he found them at Sam’s Club in Vallarta, so guess where we were yesterday??? Yup, we drove to Sam’s club and I got a bucket full of little baby ones, hurray, I actually snitched one from the bucket I was buying……………to die for! Let me repeat this……………….TO DIE FOR! We drove to KFC (Ross had a craving) then stopped in at Costco for another tub of Pub Mix, if you can find this at home grab one, they are very good, it is made up of pretzels and stuff. Ross left to his meeting at 5:30 and I finished watching my Christmas shows I had recorded.
I am now sitting in the office, I had an 11:30 appointment to get my nails done so I have been up and about for a long time now………………..Siesta time??? We don’t have any plans for tonight, at least we can’t remember any so I guess we will have a nice night in.
I hope this finds everyone well and hope you all have all your Christmas shopping done so you can sit back and drink some eggnog!
