Ooooops

Monday July 13th and Tuesday July 14th, 2009

I forgot to write my blog last night so you’ll be getting two, two, two blogs in one. And if you call right now I will send you another one entirely free. Ok, so I’m a little nuts........................alright a lot nuts, we digress.

Not much happened yesterday, no awning, no snow, no money won. We did go to a couple of the casinos on the other side of I15, The Palace Station & the Rio, the Rio was very expensive (we were looking for dinner) so we went to the Station and with a card (free) we got 4 dollars off the buffet. It wasn’t bad, not great though. I got my nails done yesterday and of course went downtown, Ross’s favourite hangout now, and had a great burger at the Golden Gate, an old fashioned diner, food and staff to match! (Ross’s words) It was still very hot as it has started the day today, 38c at 11am. We got a phone call at 8 this morning from our awning guy, he said they had ours on a truck and would be delivering it today. We got some good news, bad news, good news, bad news a while ago. The awning they sent was bent, but they have an extra electric one, but our RV is aluminum and they only work on fibreglass, but he is here now seeing if we can rig something up, if he can he can put it on today! If not we will have to stay another night, which is going to screw up my reservations I made yesterday at the Grand Canyon and Phoenix. Another day in the life of..........oh well, it could be worse, we could be in Fillmore, Utah, a hole in the wall of the United States of America!

Well he is here now so I will say adieu for now and finish this saga tonight..............stay tuned......

It is now 9:30pm and guess what..........................?????????????????, we have awning, yeah! It’s even electric, however we had to take the small awning off the bedroom window, cause the regular awnings are 14’ wide the electric ones are 16’ wide, so it’s too wide and it hit the bedroom awning. We need to have someone adapt the bedroom awning to only come out as far as the slide, like the newer model RV’s.

We went, for the last time, to the Bay City Diner downtown at the Golden Nugget. Ross had his famous burger and I had the ribs, they were soooooooooooooooooo good. Ross ate 2 of them because I wasn’t that terribly hungry and he made them disappear quite rapidly.

We stayed on Freemont street to listen to one of the “Summer of ‘69” bands, they played Suzie Q, These boots are made for walking and American Woman to name a few, they were great. The girls had on mini skirts with flowers and paisley patterns with go go boots and the guys had on striped pants and white cotton shirts, it was so 60’s.

We are on our way, finally, to the Grand Canyon to stay a couple of nights cause Ross has never been. So there we go!

On the road again!

PEACE, hugs and love

Talk to you soon
Ross and Kim
