Hi all,
Our first full day in our new home and we are in seventh heaven. We shopped for cleaning supplies this morning and met John and Christie over at Mega (grocery store) with Lily, our new maid. We stopped by the store we purchased our appliances from and we got a pillow top king mattress for 350.00 and we also bought a rocking chair for me for about 120.00, it is gorgeous!
We brought Lily home ( she is sooooooooooooo sweet, she is married and maybe is 25??) she cleaned a very dusty house to perfection! We have actually moved into the house today because it is so nice and clean!
We left Lily to go to Costco for sheets and pillows and a blanket for our new king mattress and bought a few plants too. (we also stopped and Ross got a slice of pepperoni pizza and I had a hot dog both with pop, it is very hot and humid here right now. I am writing this in our back yard and seeing some grey clouds overhead, hopefully we will get some rail to cool us off. We took a new way home and got lost in a Mexican neighbourhood for about ¾ of an hour and finally found our way to home depot (it’s on the 200 hiway to home) so of course Ross went in to see if he could get some new locks for our front gate (why he got a cart will be revelled later) I stayed in the car because we couldn’t put the top up because we had our plants and bedding in the back seat. He came out with another plant, some other stuff, but they didn’t have any locks! We drove really carefully home as to not blow too many leaves off the plants. Between Jalisco state (Puerto Vallarta) and Nayarit state (Bucerias) there is a stop point where they (the gun guys) check you over to see if they think you are carrying drugs ( the hiway 200 is the hiway of drugs), it was really backed up (it was about 4pm) and soooo slow, but all of a sudden it started to move, I think they decided to let some cars through as it was getting really backed up, and super muggy and hot! We finally got home and Lily had done such a great job, she even did the windows, she stayed a little longer then Ross drove her to the highway so she could take a bus home, not of course until I had her coming every Wednesday from now on to help clean ( she charges 50 pesos an hour which is 5.00).
Ross had gone to Mega (the grocery store) because he can’t find the grape juice we bought before and when he gets back I think we will go find something to eat. We have justified eating out because we don’t have anything good to eat in the house as yet and a person needs to eat!
The clouds seem to be moving away.................we only saw a bit of lightning last night and a bit of rain.......where is the rainy season? I know I am going to eat my words one day, but it would be a relief if it rained and cooled down a bit, I’m not complaining mind you, but I do need to wipe my brow from sweat now and again so it doesn’t go into my eyes, it stings because sweat is salty!
The dogs are settled in, if very panty! Shadow is doing well in the house, Tigger and Sunshine are having a problem with the move. They are kinda hiding outside, it won’t be long until they are settled.
Talk to you soon from paradise,
Ross and Kim
