I am sitting here in our backyard, it is 9:14 pm Edmonton time, we have just gotten back from supper at Taco Itzel where 5 of us got a fabulous Mexican meal for $13.00 cdn (156 pesos) which included 3 beverages. They don’t serve alcohol but you can bring your own if you want.
Another great day in Bucerias! Ross actually got the latches on the front door, so the dogs and/or cats can’t open them and we have the drain hose on the washing machine hooked up so when my washer drains it does not go over the cement into my kitchen. I have unpacked all the boxes that we had in the house, wow what a difference, it actually looks like a house rather than a warehouse! My kitchen counters are clean and a bathroom cabinet that I wanted in my bathroom is now in the kitchen holding spices, as I tried to screw in 2 screws into the grout of my tiles in my bathroom and only one would go in! Go figure! So I hung a picture on the screw I put in and gave up on trying to hang the cabinet. I really need some place to put my bathroom stuff, we have no medicine cabinets or any cabinets for that matter. I bought and put together 2 shelves to over the toilets one for each bathroom. Yucky, we found out the other day that we can’t flush toilet paper down the toilet because the pipes are too small, so we had to buy a small garbage can with lid for each bathroom to put our toilet paper in!!! I’m afraid this is customary everywhere in Mexico except for the resorts, their pipes are bigger and better and newer.
I unpacked a box with a lot of photos in it, mostly of the kids, awwwwwwwwwwwwww we really miss you, I don’t know whether or not we will be able to have a family wall in this house as we need concrete nails for all pictures, so we are trying to figure out what to do with them all. It is so humid now, being the rainy season, that paper goes all limp so all our photos are doing this also. I know...............it’s a tough life!
Our garbage gets picked up Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays (at no extra charge, actually there isn’t a charge) and our garbage guys are so cute. They were the ones to help up get the trailer in our yard, so they yelled to let us know they were there, there aren’t any doorbells here, just people saying Hola! They were loading our boxes into the garbage truck and looked in one box and looked at Ross, to say, you left some stuff in the box, then shook it upside down to show that it was empty and laughed! We so love the Mexican people, they are like people used to be like in the olden days, they are so courteous and polite!
We (I) put together a fountain that we are listening to, as we are too far from the ocean to hear the surf, again poor us! We are listening to crickets, and enjoying the cool air, however the sweat is still pouring off of my head, again, poor me!
Gotta go to get the laptop off my legs, as it is very hot also.
Talk to you soon!
Ross and Kim and dogs and cats
Ps: we filled up our pool yesterday and it is slightly on a slant so the water is slowly moving toward the house, (it’s really hard to explain) so anyway we will have to drain it and move the pool closer to the back gate so maybe it will be a little leveller. (sp) We might get a terra cotta pot to put our new palm tree in it, put it beside the pool wall to keep it upright! We will have to see.
