Saturday - Monday November 14th – 16th 2009

Wow, it’s been a very hard week for us. I haven’t had the desire to write but I think it’s time to breathe and smell the roses again.

I had to wake up early on Saturday morning as I had to be at Mega at 9 for the adoption! We had one cat, and guess what, he got adopted. It was so cool to be able to teach people (mostly Mexicans) to care for their pets and treat them as part of the family. That is part of what PEACE (Protection-Education-Animals-Culture & Environment. www.peacemexico.org) does including doing spaying/neutering for a very low price (200 pesos for a female dog ($20.00). It is awesome!

We got home and I took Tigger to the vet to see how he was doing, and as I said the vet liked how the incision looked, no infection! After we got home Tigger jumped up (yes he jumped!) up onto where I have a lot of blankets (it’s nice and soft) then I saw him a little while later jump down and go under the bed. That was the last time I saw him alive.

We putzed around and got all the audio equipment into the car for the grand opening of La Fronda (a great development for sale). We got there at 3:30 (as we are supposed to, as being more Canadian than Mexican we were on time) and no one was there. We took a look at the show home (it’s done now, wow!) and we are so excited! I finally called Christie to see where she was, she said there were about 15 kids at her house and she had just left, (I’ll be there shortly)! The front of the project was almost done but they had the lawn in with the hedges that are going to be the fences (things grow really fast in Mexico) and they did a great job of decorating the model home.

There was a tent at the entrance with sitting areas and we had music playing in the background. It was catered with nibblies and we had white/red wine or pop to drink. We got our “Elements” T-shirt’s (we feel part of the team now) and we basically visited with Karen and Grant and Sue and Harold as they (I think) were the ones that spoke English and we like them! There was an appetizer with a cucumber with pretend crab, shredded carrots along with other veggies. We stayed until 7pm (it started at 5) then put our speakers and stuff in Christie’s truck, then Karen and Grant and of course us…went to Riveria for supper. Karen and Ross shared the calamari and Karen and I shared the Tequila shrimp (Karen didn’t like the cactus) but we ate the shrimp and rice with onions. We dropped them off at their hotel and got home. I prepared tiggers medication and went to look for him, that’s when I found him on our patio; he had been dead for a while as he was already stiff. We got him in a plastic bag and will drive to PV Tuesday after work to take him to get cremated.

To say the least Sunday was a very sad day, Christie and her kids came over after church to drop off the sound equipment we donated for the La Fronda Opening and stayed for a bit. We took the dogs to the beach, Maggie and Jake haven’t been yet and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Maggie actually got right in with Ross once but was kinda shy after that, they were good until a wave came in then they ran. Gracie has been before and doesn’t like it, hopefully once the other two get used to it they will want to go in. We have to buy a tennis ball to throw, maybe that will work.

Today is Monday and we slept in until noon almost………………….I think the most we have slept since Tigger passed away. We got going and we went to Wal-Mart to get a few things then we got home, put the groceries away and Ross took off to his meeting in Nuevo. He got home and said, “I’m hungry, let’s go to Meson Bay for their shrimp and fish night, it was very busy, hurray! we had a fabulous dinner, listening to the waves breaking on shore.

I have Gracie and Jake underneath me and Ross wants to watch a bit of Corrie Street so I’m gonna say bye for now and hope everyone has a great week.

A sad Ross and Kim in Paradise
With Gracie, Jake, Maggie, Shadow and Sunshine
