Buenos Noches. It’s 8 pm Sunday night and I can truthfully say, I have not gotten out of my pajamas all day! We were going to take the dogs out to the beach this afternoon, but we didn’t seem to get up enough energy to go. So we have been putzing all day, having popcorn for supper (we introduced Jake (aka Buddy we have changed his name, the votes have been tallied) to popcorn, not having it before he was not quite sure what to do with it, but once he tried some he was climbing the couch to get more, what have we done, created a popcorn junkie?) and tostados with salsa for lunch, we are so healthy!
We went out to dinner last night to a new restaurant across the street from Sue and Harold’s, on the road to the De Cameron, that was great. Ross had a hamburger 59 pesos and I had the large portion of breaded shrimp with rice and coleslaw with a great dipping sauce, kinda like Thousand Island dressing. We got there before 7 (hurray for us) and there was about 10 other people that got there ahead of us and before we could say bottoms up (they gave us all a shot of tequila, see that’s one good reason to go back) we had to add about 5 more tables for the people that came later ending up making an L shape of tables. High season is here I think!
After having chats with everyone, oh yeah Harold, our resident volunteer bomberos got a call and had to leave dinner for a bit as there was a traffic accident close and could he please come. It ended up with 2 police cars and 1 ambulance were outside our restaurant, a motorcycle hit a car and sped off, we left with Renee and we went to Philos and Ross played a bit with the band. Philo we found out had been to the hospital because he was really sick and didn’t know why, I guess. He came back while we were there and he certainly didn’t look well, hopefully it’s not the H1N1. Nick was in charge on guitar and we had Leon (he’s a looker) on washboard, Oscar on Sax, Carlos on drums and Peggy on bass. Tom came by and played a couple of tunes on his new bass that he bought from Steve York a guy in PV. (Apparently it is a fabulous instrument!)
We drove Renee home and went home ourselves, watched TV for a while and we watched a bit of TV then went to bed. We had sprayed our room with bug spray (I don’t know whether I said that we have an infestation of ticks, we think because of Maggie) and we found dead ticks everywhere. Gracie is infested; we tried to get them off her to no avail, so we are going to the vet tomorrow for a shampoo to get rid of them on her. Jake (aka buddy) doesn’t have any on him, we think because they were all over big dog because he wasn’t moving and Gracie was not away from his side for the past few days they glommed onto her. It’ s kinda yucky thinking about it, but that’s life in a hot climate, we are keeping Maggie outside from now on and once we get Gracie done we should be ok. The cats are ok, sorry about that pause, I had to check, I had just assumed they were ok because they are not scratching at all, and I am right Tigger is free and clear so the rest of the cats will be ok.
We are watching discovery HD Net and it’s a show about the high altitude tests and other tests of nuclear weapons back in the 50’s, that is pretty scary, no wonder why our planet is so screwed up, and they call it global warming because of cars and such! Captain Kirk is narrating (William Shatner for those non trekkies), he has a very good narrating voice, don’t you think. You know it’s funny, everyone knows our lives and no one e-mails me anymore cause they don’t need to, I’d like to hear about how you guys are doing, I really would!
Ross is putting our very skinny pork chops in the toaster oven (he doesn’t feel like BBQing) and we did buy cut sweet potatoes from Wal-Mart for a veggie, but they are yams not sweet potatoes, how dare they! So I think we have some frozen veggies in the freezer and of course we have apple sauce for a side, you haveta have apple sauce with pork chops!
Hopefully my blog will be a little more interesting tomorrow, because I get to wake up in paradise!
