25 degrees (12:50am Sunday) Feels like 35, Wind N 9 km/h, Humidity 83% Overcast
Brett got us up at 10am this morning, which is good because we needed to get up a little early cause I needed to take Jake to the vet. He feels hot, is very lethargic and has diarrhea. We had a couple of delicious cups of coffee then did our showers, and since its Saturday I changed the sheets on the bed (I love getting into bed with clean sheets)! We tried to get a hold of Brett via his cell phone but it went right to voice mail, we knew he was going to walk down the beach to Bucerias and go down to Centro to do some market shopping, so we decided to wait until later in the afternoon to call his hotel.
I got to the vet shortly after 1pm (need to get there before 2 or they will be on siesta until 4) and he asked me a lot of questions, what colour is the diarrhea, does he run wild, etc etc., he took his temp and it was 40.3. We think he has what Gracie has (it’s called Erhlichia, it’s a tick disease) he gave him a shot of medicine and told me only to give him rice (very little protein) for supper and keep him on a leash so he doesn’t eat anything he finds on his walks.
I got home and we putzed, trying to start getting things organized for our Grey Cup party tomorrow. Harold and Sue popped by (with the dog cage we gave them when they were to pick up Maggie from the vet) and we sat and chatted for a bit, we talked about Amigos de Bucerias, what they used to be and what they have become now. After they left we got a hold of Brett at his hotel, so we went and picked him up to go “The Sirloin Stockade”.
We drove to Costco first and what did we do as soon as we got there???????????? We bought the couch we were looking at, now please remember that the couch, chair and love seat we bought down here are very Mexican, very orange and red and very uncomfortable. We were told by Christie that once we get down here to live she would give us 6 months before we bought another one, more comfortable)(she didn’t tell us this before we bought it though!)) So we did, the couch is made of micro-suede has 3 cushions but the last one is double the length of the other two and has an ottoman that it sits on so that it looks like a lounger, quite sophisticated! We also bought my new plates (white square with red lines and dots on it) and a sealer for Ross, oh, and a pot for my palm tree……………..I’ll have to do pictures!
After spending way too much money at Costco we drove to the Galleria Mall so Ross and Brett could pig out at the buffet. Wow was it busy, it’s good that it’s busy, but it’s nice when it’s slow because you can get seated right away. There was a very long lineup but we eventually got in and I made a bee line to the stir fry station. I lost count of how many plates the guys had, all I can say is……..it was lots,
We did a bit of shopping for Brett (he bought some runners I think), it’s kinda neat we were in Liverpool and I noticed the guy that helped us out when we bought the scooters and he remembered me! We had a chat, he told me of a sale they are going to be having next Saturday and asked if I was coming, he said it was for all the people that have their credit cards. I explained to him I didn’t have one, and he kinda looked at me weird and said “well then get one”. When Ross and Brett got back, they went back to one store we were already in and as my foot was sore I waited for them at the car. We took off to Philo’s to hear him play a bit, and pick up my tequila barrel I had wanted to buy the last time we were there and they, ok believe this, ran out of the tequila! We stayed for a set then drove Brett back to his hotel and finally got home around midnight!
Adios From Mexico
